to be fair the no jewlery rule is in all motorsport because its a danger to the driver in the event of a fire.

imagine Grojon had a nose ring in when he had that crash and that nose ring caused more damage because it got hot while he was on the fire.

now think about a chain causing additional burns under the fireproof overalls.

while I agree Ben Sulayem is a W4nker he is right about that at the very least.

But that is a Risk that the Driver takes, in this case a Doctor said that removing the Nose ring would do more harm than the Risk was worth.

The immediate risk was the time it took to check/inspect/remove such in the event of a driver needing an MRI. If your fire protection fails I don't think moderate or small amounts of jewellery is gonna make it much worse after you've withstood 600 degrees for 10 seconds.

yes MRI is another consideration.
I have had an MRI with some Jewlery in that could not be removed. they were bioplast and did not cause any issues.

but I did have to remove the stainless steel dermal anchor piercing in my back. still have not found an artist that can put that back in, and that makes me sad.
 
Weird FP2 with the VCARBs faster than the Red Bulls....
McLaren and Ferrari both look strong.

My gut instinct is Red Bull look weak. Very weak. Like they'd be lucky to score points weak....

McLaren will have to change controversial 'mini-DRS' rear wing​



McLaren will modify its rear-wing design in the wake of the controversy over its 'mini-DRS' after a request from the FIA.
With rival teams questioning the legality of the McLaren rear wing after the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, as the upper element appeared to rotate back to open up the slot gap, the FIA has been carefully looking at its design.
And although there are no doubts that the wing fully complies with the current regulations, and passes all the static tests, it is understood that the FIA has requested for changes to be made.
While McLaren will still be allowed to use the exact low-drag wing that it raced in Baku on the type of tracks it is designed for, it has been told that it needs to make alternations that will prevent the upper element from flexing in the manner it has.
Although the demands of the FIA regulations purely relate to wings passing static load tests, there are other aspects to the wing behaviour that count too in terms of legality.

These have been made clear in a long-standing technical directive to teams. It states that, while it is natural for parts to flex when exposed to increased aero load, the FIA does not deem components that are deliberately designed to move in a specific manner.
In TD34, the FIA states that it does not consider legal: "designs whose structural characteristics are altered by secondary parameters, so as to produce (whilst running at the track) a different deflection characteristic than when stationary during the FIA checks. Examples of secondary parameters could be temperature, aerodynamic load etc."
