Ecclestone admitted that he and then FIA president Max Mosley had learned about ‘Crashgate’ from the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix, but decided to not take action to avoid tarnishing F1’s image.

Will be an interesting case and outcome. If he wins it won't change the official outcome but it will mean a declaration and handover a bundle of cash by the FIA and broader implications.

The FIA needs an overhaul and this nonsense shouldn’t be allowed.

Since when does simply going off track deserve a penalty?
 
There was a chance of him leading into turn one until he got squeezed.

He just hung on to that chance slightly longer than he should have which left him going off.

Then obviously he went as fast as he could once he knew he was headed off.

I'd rather watch drivers take risks and push the limits rather than follow each other round in perfect lines like AI.
