First ever in Bahrain I think, but may well be wrong

They should use the Mclaren as the safety car.

It would give Mclaren something constructive to do.
It would allow Alonso to lead the race occasionally
And The Mclaren is not much faster than the Current Safety car, so lap time will be similar.

Yes, but twice Bottas Let him through to allow him that opportunity, hence saying Bottas gets it for Team play rather than sticking to his guns Rossburg style and costing team points.

I'm not so sure VB had much choice the second time, he was a lot slower and didn't keep up at all after the pass, C4 commentary said he reporting issues with the back of the car after the pass.

Actually first pass as well, wasn't LH on much newer tyres and a different strategy? it wouldn't have done VB any good fighting it then either.

First time they had both just put on fresh tires but they needed to let Lewis free to build up the 5 seconds the next stop would cost in penalties.
