I pulled the numbers up a few pages ago. F1 hasn't seen this sort of 1-horse race in its history. Mercedes have been more dominant than the 88 - 91 McLaren-Hondas and completely shade the recent Red Bull and Ferrari periods of dominance. This season was the first time that they faced a legitimate external threat in the hybrid era.

Although the Hambois will tell you its all him, even though Nico won more than twice the amount of the rest of the grid combined.

Just when you think F1 pulled off a good race this weekend at a massive venue and then you remember the MotoGP race earlier in the day on a tiny island on a track that cost a tenth of COTA.
 
Hamilton is a good driver. He walked into the team at the right time when Nico and Schumacher did the building up. It's not surprising that the team has thus fallen behind without Nico.

By falling behind I mean not dominating each and every race like they did in the past 3 years.

That is how you come across to be honest... its ok though everyone has his preference and idea of what a great driver should be.

So go for it HAM fanboy, I am supporting VET... although I see the new era producing amazing drivers, can not yet decide who I will support in the furure, MAX, OCON or SAINZ, making a decision now I will go for sainz I think.

What's your thought on Schumi as a driver? Best car or was he any good?

Felipe Massa believes 2008 title rival Lewis Hamilton is one of the greatest drivers to have graced Formula One.

With Hamilton set to claim a fourth drivers' title at this weekend's Mexican Grand Prix, he is set to become Britain's most successful ever F1 driver. Hamilton has already broken the record for most career pole positions and has moved into second on the all-time grand prix winners list.

Massa thinks Hamilton's success means he should be put in the same bracket as Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna -- two drivers often labelled as the greatest of all-time.

"Lewis is definitely one of the best drivers in the history of Formula One," Massa told Sky Sports. "You cannot really take him away or [place him] in a different level compared to Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna. He's there."

Massa argues fans are guilty of looking back at F1 history with rose-tinted glasses and modern day drivers deserve to be put on the same pedestal as ones who competed before them.

"All the time you saw Lewis in the car he was impressive,'' Massa added. "He impressed the people in whatever category he did. It was the same with Ayrton Senna. It was the same with Michael Schumacher. The problem is people always love to look back and say in the past it was much better than now, which is not true.

"If [in football] you see Cristiano Ronaldo, Messi and some other players, maybe even Neymar will be very soon on that level, they have nothing to lose compared to Maradona, Pele or whoever. It's the same here."

Bernie Ecclestone said that Hamilton is F1's greatest world champion. Not Senna, not Schumacher... ...Hamilton.
 
IIRC, Schumacher did push for better safety standards and he pushed for bringing back the GPDA so drivers had a say in the direction of the sport.
 
Can someone pls post accurate times, for all sessions, SAST.

The SS times these days include transmission start and not actual session start so its confusing.
