Factory Reset HD PVR 2P or network settings, please help

I'm thinking of passing by Game on my way home to get the splitter .. Might as well try that too

Don't get a multiswitch, as they degrade signal quality on these systems. Get the 1 in 2 out splitter that can handle IF (at least 950-2150 MHz). You might need a 10dB sat line-amp too, depending on the signal strength in your unit... but try without one first.

finally got pass this .. one more problem though, sound! I used HDMI to connect to my TV and all works fine. But the sound from TV to my home theater system is no where to be found. Strange that TV picks up the sound and send to theater system if i use the S-Video cable?

Once again, you'll need to give more info. Describe your setup and cable routing.

Mhh. my Sony TV has HDMI input ... I connected my decoder using that and have sound out (White/Red cables) of TV connecting to AUX on Sound System. I read somewhere it may have to do with PAL-I, but there's no such configuration on TV, and on decoder is set to that ...

The HDMi audio is probably not scaled to left and right analog audio by your TV. Rather use the red and white audio outputs from your decoder into the amp...

What are the input options for your sound system? Is it a home theatre (multichannel) system?

If it is just a stereo system, better to run the audio cables direct from the PVR to your system (i.e. bypass the TV as QT suggested). If it is multichannel, then you should try to connect with either the co-axial digital connector or the optical (numbers 2 and 3 in the below pic).

PS: Yet again, you've not given enough information to enable us to help ;)

Hi sonxER77,

I'm very new to online forums so excuse if my etiquette is incorrect. I however live in Villa Italia as well and have no luck with the technicians or Multichoice, I have the HD PVR and there is a problem with the signal! I struggled for up wards of three weeks to get it started, went through 4 decoders, Multichoice kept swapping them, eventually we got it working but even then it wasn't great, I was told it is because we are on the signal LNB cable system. It worked for 6 months and 3 days ago it stopped working 'Signal not found' is the error message. Since then I have taken it to Multichoice twice and it has worked there but not at home. Can you help?

If you read through the thread, you'll find the below helpful advice from QuantumTheory:
Okay cool. You can give Ian Norris from Cape Satellite a call at 083 227 5720. He looks after that complex.

hcj, Ian is not available at the moment. I will post his employee Roger's number tomorrow. Remind me by PM, if I forget. There has got to be something simple wrong with the system to your apartment. Taking the decoder to MC is an exercise in futility.

Yip, i had to call Roger and the team ... Its a pain to try doing it yourself, rather pay someone the number is what i used two weeks ago 0832275720. Nothing wrong with the Decoder ... Everything is working fine with Extra View configured. Must warn you though that as some point you may lose signal but get it back within a second. The signal strength (once connected) is very good and am loving the HD channels :) ...
