So... Who's getting it? Who isn't? Why/why not?

I'll probably end up getting it even though I don't like Bethesda. I'm afraid of them making Fallout just another Oblvion with a few post-nuclear bits and bobs.

I've also heard that they've taken out the turn-based part of it and replaced it with some sort of slow-motion action function thing. *shrugs*

Any opinions would be welcome :)

I will get it because I love Fallout and Oblivion and Guns.

I'm just worried that it will be dumbed-down and short considering it is mainly targetted at console gamers.

I loved Fallout but I hope the combat is more tactical this time, instead of 2 groups of guys lining up 5 meters apart and blowing eachother away. Also there must be a good balance to between conversation and combat. A little less conversion and a little more action. Make that more conversation as well. And explosions.

I will be getting it because I liked the previous games :)

"Liked???" No, no, no... I "liked" Oblivion, I did not "like" Fallout. Fallout is legendary, it's brilliant and driven and... and... ENTHRALLING.

Fallout ranks amongst classics like Baldur's Gate, Planescape: Torment, Arcanum of Steamworks & Magick Obscura.... It is not a game that one simply, "likes!"

*fanboi hissyfit*

If Bethesda ruin Fallout, I will ruin Bethesda!!!!! Ok, no, not really, but I'll wish really, really hard :D

You underestimate how difficult it is for a game to be liked by me :p

I'm not really partial to any particular genre.

Oi, I loved C&C because I was extremely young at the time (and it's still great fun) :D

That's fair :p Fallout was a game I only discovered 2 years ago and couldn't believe I never heard of it before then. I instantly fell in love with it. My problem is that I'm one of the (probably few) people that didn't like Oblivion or Morrowind. I consider them to be travesties to the RPG genre, yet they're entertaining as far as... er... needing something to do... goes. I'll admit I loved the Dark Brotherhood in Oblivion - was the best story arc, in my opinion :)

So yes, I'm afraid of what Fallout 3 will be like. It's one of the last games I really, truly loved that I might see blown to bits before my eyes. I think that worst case scenario, I'll simply try to think of it as "another" game. Only time will tell :)

I found it difficult to get into C&C... Storyline and the live-action scenes drove me nuts with what I considered to be bad acting. I never even finished one C&C game :o But then, when Westwood made Emperor: Battle for Dune, I fell in love with it and the acting... So... eh, I dunno. It could just be the whole storyline of C&C that never appealed to me :/

I'm a pain T.T

Die game lyk baie goed, ek is seker die grafika gaan bedonnerd wees en die PIP boy tonne plesier verskaf!

Net jammer mens kan nie meer kinders in die gesig skiet met afgesaagde haelgewere nie. *ek grap net*

Uhh... Bethesda? :D

Damn, here I was aiming for the, "Cynical Gamer" perk :p

Speaking of which, I always took the "Bloody Mess" perk. Never could figure out why, probably the satisfaction of seeing Enclave Raiders (I think, can't remember the name off hand) die horribly :D

lol... No problem - I can't remember any. To be honest, I'm sort of hoping that Fallout 3's release will spurn the re-release of the originals. I'd love to get my hands on physical; PURCHASED copies of them :)

I used to love the Mutants - thought they were awesome :)

I bought the collector's edition (Fallout + Fallout2 + Fallout Tactics) a few years ago :)

o.o

I don't like you any more.

I really enjoyed Tactics as well. It was a lot of fun :) I'm itching to play it again... :X

I don't know, was kind of disappointed with Tactics :o

Will probably play all of them again before Fallout 3 gets released :D
