Q: Will there be a rollover of my unused monthly data?
A: No, unfortunately the data allocation resets each month, so any unused data from the previous month will not rollover. On the 1st of each month, your account will be replenished with 2GB/5GB again.

Q: Are Prepaid data bundles available?
A: Not at the moment, but Cell C is planning to make these available in the future.

Q: Can I use another operator’s dongle with my Cell C SIM?
A: Yes, as long as the dongle is UMTS 900 capable – otherwise you will not get the best speed experience. [Discussion]

Q: Can I buy the promo and use it on EDGE until the network is launched in my area?
A: Cell C only offer the data promotion in areas where HSPA+ coverage has been launched. Should you use our new SIM and dongle in an area with EDGE coverage you will receive sub-optimal speed and performance. This is not recommended.

Q: When will Cell C be launching their High-Speed Data Network in my city?
A: Cell C are rolling out the HSPA+ 900 network in a city-by-city approach to ensure stability and the best quality network in the country. Please keep an eye on your local press or our website for announcements of the launch in your area.

Q: What is the Out-of-Bundle rate on the data promotion?
A: R 0.39/MB – this is if you use all 2GB/5GB before month-end.

Q: How do I recharge my data account once my bundle is depleted?
A: You will need to recharge your data account with standard Cell C Prepaid airtime.

Q: Can I update the firmware on my Vodafone device with the Cell C software/drivers?
A: No, but the SIM should work in the device if it is 900MHz capable, and as long as the dongle is not SIM-locked/network-locked.

Q: Is there a chance that the promotion will be sold out before the HSPA+ network is launched in my area?
A: Cell C will ensure that the promotion is available in all our launch cities over the period of the promotion, so there’s no need to fly around the country to get hold of it.

Q: If I am connected for more than 10min the modem disconnects and goes back to WCDMA.
A: The USB port used might give low voltage as more ports shred the same power. The resolution is to use each port until the correct one is identified as there should be at least one port with non-shared power source from the rest. [Discussion]

To receive the settings automatically use the USSD command on your phone *147# and call.
You will receive 2 SMS’s containing the relevant settings. Please save/install them and set as default.
If you are prompted for a PIN use 1234

Should you use the manual settings you will still need to call Cell C on 140 or use the USSD command found above to provision your Cell Number on the network for Internet and MMS.
