Favourite Coffee Blend

Whats blatantly obvious is that the majority of people don't like Ricoffy but still drink it at work. Why? And another thing i dont understand is that most companies/employers only buy Ricoffy for staff.

Its not the cheapest nor the most expensive but why is it the norm?

Nescaffe classic or Jacobs

2 coffees, 2 sugars ... no milk

Same here. The employees get Ricoffy and whenever someone from head office or some big shot broker give us a visit the manager busts out the finest china (no really) and they get the expensive coffee.

That's pretty standard. When I worked at a place with that crap, I brought in my own mug and my own instant coffee. I refuse to drink that horrid stuff. How anyone can stomach it is beyond me.

See below, I started drinking tea when I didn't have Jakobs or Nescafe Classic, I honestly cannot stomach Ricoffy, although I have had it on occasion, ech!.

Yeah, my previous employer would supply Nescafe Classic to managers and above, rest got Ricoffy. When I started bringing Jakobs, made a deal with one of the managers that if I share the Jakobs with him, I can share his Nescafe when I don't have Jakobs. Worked well.

I used to drink Nescafe, but once they only had the red decaf version, so i tried it and it was way better tasting, you will not believe how you can taste the caffeine, disgusting, i drink gallons of coffee i like it all day, easy 20 mugs a day, i couldnt do that with regular coffee id be awake 24/7

Yup. For some weird reason the Nescafe decaff is better tasting than the normal caffeinated version.

try the Davidoff instant ... its awesome, but last i saw was R117 for 100 or 200g, can't remember, but it was rather delicious.

Normally its Nescafe Gold or whatever Kenyan / Malawian filter coffee.

Heh, my first order from them arrived today (Quebradon for me and Decaf C02 for my better half). Gonna try it later.

For my regular day-to-day coffee it's Nescafe Classic or Jakob's Kronung

They have Ricoffy at work, only drink it if I am really desperate.

B

Their Low Caf CO2 is an awesome coffee, but its not 100% decaf else it would loose all its flavour. I buy CO2 and House Blend for home, when I got cash I get the Cardinal Sin - the best of the best but I drink it like water when I have it at home :)

The Colombian beans are realy nice.

Currently busy with UNISA exams so my consumption goes up a bit.

From experience only buy as much as you need, we now only buy one bag a time for home, then again I'm 5 minutes away from them and they also deliver to our office every week. Where 10 guys going through 12 bags a week :)

I'm usually the type of guy that would go for a nice cup of filtered coffee but with the recent price hikes on my favorite brand i have moved to instant coffee.

I used to drink a lof of Nescafe Gold but its also so bloody expensive @ almost R70.

Now i've found an alternative, Monte Cafe premium instant coffee @ R22 per 100gr.
:D and it really tastes great.

So what kind of coffee do you drink?

Im also hooked on the Gold LOL!
Im also partial to the Nescafe Alta Rica, its a Columbian blend if im not mistaken.(Bloody expensive though for such a tiny jar)

Im amazed how close the instant coffee is approaching filter coffee taste.

I pay R38 for a bag of filter coffee, considering that Ricoffy is R50 when on special, filter coffee is not that bad. I buy 2-3 bags a month for home and its worth the expense.

Checkers sell an imported instant coffee called Antigua which is quite good. We buy the decaf version which is much cheaper than Nescafe decaff and tastes nearly the same. It normally sells for R49 compared to R80-odd for Nescafe decaff.

pick n pay have this house brand.. its Ecuador coffee...
i have converted many a coffeee-nista with this coffee so far. its not toxic-bitter ( although some may like that) but ts got a very nice unique taste..

not bad for instant!
also they used to have ciro platinum instant a few years back which was columbian i think... very very nice!

coffee's i hate- starbucks- more like staryucks! jacobs kronung.. have you seen the muck of a residue that so called 100% pure coffee leaves!

in the absent of my seemingly south/central american preference.. i really cant cry about original nescafe..
