Feeling sorry for yourself?

Then take her to court. Or simply get a court order for her to hand it over ;)

If she is in breach of contract threaten legal action to get the documents. This is no longer about friends or family but business.

Unfortunately Mr Blu does not operate that way and since this is someone fairly close to him, he goes the route of waiting ... and asking ... and waiting some more.

Anyway, I was just sharing my frustration with the person's slackness and offering personal problems as excuse for non-performance.

What would happen if we all did that? No work would get done !

Naah, I will be like a little lapdog, biting their ankles until they give me what i want :D

My dogs tried that they got hit with a stick for being a nuisance. ;)

Might seem off topic, but one can only wait and irritate for so long before it starts affecting your own life negatively.

Hell, I've written off lots of loot over the years, bad debts, school fees. It's amazing how inconspicuous people become when they owe money... And it's amazing how for a few bob people write off friendships...

Small claims court is really effective provided the claim is below R7k....

As I explained, money is not the issue!!

WE now pay for the asset. What I want, are the documents pertaining to the asset, NOT money.

That is exactly what we agreed upon. For now, we make double payments every month (ours and theirs) and we will also refund them the payments they made thus far in return for us to have 100% ownership of the asset.

....

Not to mention doing business with friends or family. I keep telling Mr Blu that and every time it turns out to be true.

+1

I really feel for you in this situation. I hope things work out. I am so with you on keeping friends and family out of your business matters. Some people are lucky, but I won't chance it. A mess up with this issue is happening to someone I know for the 3rd time because of their kind nature.

A while ago I wanted to sell my Corsa, but couldn't find a buyer. A family member offered to take over the installments from me, instead of buying it outright. I was so tempted and I'd already bought a new car because the Corsa was constantly breaking down. But I declined and kept paying the installments on 2 cars until a buyer was found. It was a pain:mad: - but the lesser of 2 evils at that time. It would've been a family feud if he missed payments & got me blacklisted. A girl I know from work accepted such an offer from her cousin - who stopped paying and vanished with the car. Now her family is calling a "witch" because she's trying to track this person down to get the car or her money. She's lost about 10kgs in the past 3 months.:(

Exactly.

The other person does not pay and when you dare follow them up, YOU become the 'mean person' and people get upset at you. How is that possible???

In our case, I got the distinct impression that there was an attitude of "let the rich people in JHB sort it out, we do not need to worry". The worst is that the purchase was THEIR idea to begin with !!
