Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc driving the Ferrari Luce should have been the entirety of the launch campaign. Am totally convinced now. This $640k EV is gonna sell like hot cakes.
Today, in the showrooms of Porsche, Lamborghini, and Aston Martin…
Ouchthe looks of a Chinese entry-level EV.
How can the Ferrari be so junk in comparison?!!
That looks like an early a 2010 Citroen design abortion, what were they thinking.

They probably designed it to fail because they don't actually want to make an electric car but they have to due to some stupid EU regulations or something similar
Doubt it, the amount of backlash, stock drop, money lost and damage to reputation? That looks like an early 2010 Citroen design abortion. What were they thinking?

The new Ferrari Luce isn't a Ferrari as much as it is an Apple product with the handiwork of Jony Ive all over it. It's got the great UI and UX, comfy and plushy interiors, and features that make it a decent daily driver. You could get all of these things (and then some) out of a Polestar for a third of the cost, or a Tesla for that matter.
But that's where it really misses the plot. It doesn't look, sound, or even drive like a Ferrari. It's an Apple product with a horse logo slapped onto it. And just like any Apple product there's a bunch of things about it that just aren't very good, which come across as stuff they're trying to force onto buyers.
Like the design. It just screams "EV" and in doing so, goes against the entire Ferrari aesthetic. It looks like a Nissan Leaf, and that's not good.
Like Apple, they think they know what customers want even when they don't want it. I don't think it'll play out the way they think.
At the price point, it's easy to ignore, and also at the price point, the demographic that's able to afford it is already looking elsewhere.
It looks like a car you'd spot in traffic that would be so common it wouldn't make you turn your head.
Put them both on a track with corners and the Luce will probably outperform the Tesla. Ferraris platform is a true 800v system with independent motors at each wheel and each can manipulate traction and cornering too while most importantly being able to sustain extreme track driving without overheating or losing power with faster recharge (100kw extra charge rate). How can the Ferrari be so junk in comparison?!!
Surely they have enough tech and budget at 6 x the price to at least give Tesla a run for their money on the performance front?

A Tesla will thermal throttle after probably 2-3 race track laps. Taycans don’t. The Ferrari definitely won’t.
The reviews etc will probably reveal all but there’s a remarkable difference between a Taycan and a Tesla in terms of handling, cornering etc. I suspect Ferrari will bring its racing pedigree too.
So if you want to do straight line drags.every day, buy a plaid. If you want to do 10 laps on a race track at full performance buy a taycan or Luce.
It’ll handle like a Ferrari is expected to and there’ll be a whole new customer segment and even existing customers that’ll have no issue with its styling. They can only produce so many and I wouldn’t bet that they’ll be sitting in a parking lot waiting for customers…but the fact that the Luce looks more like a poorly designed beard trimmer than a racecar won't help it's sales figures
