Fewer DStv Premium subscribers signing up

Which is better : 2000 subscribers @R500 or 500 subscribers @R1000

Ask an accountant, and he will say 2000 subscribers will cost more in support, therefore the other option is better.
Ask Marketing and they will say on the one hand and the other hand ......
Ask maintenance personnel and they will say they will prefer to support 500 customers then 2000 customers .....
Ask the boss who want to brag about numbers, and he will say 2000 customers are better .....

......

Biggest problem is getting from 500 to 2000.

If you slash your price to R500 your revenue drops from R5 000 00 to R2 500 000. The question is how long will it take for you to reach R5 000 000 again (1000 customers) and can you survive that long?

The latest price hike broke the camels back I'd say, most people I speak to say they'd carry on paying the current amount but after the increase its just not worth it anymore.

They went full retard and will pay the price.

They don't have to go cold turkey.

Introduce a sports only package to run parallel with their "premium" package.

Competition is a bitch hey?

If it were not for SuperSport DSTV would be in real trouble

SuperSport is definitely their main attraction and possibly the only reason why they have so many subscribers still on Premium. Otherwise it is not just worth it at that price.

Why is there so many writeups on Mybb regrading DSTV? Is DSTV paying for those postings?

It is just to damn expensive. I can pay for a pretty great internet and still watch my sport online. They surely have to know they can exploit only to a extent and then people learn to go without.

Internet gets better and cheaper over the years and mnet just gets more expensive. I know which one I will support going forward.

Which brings up the point of pay per view. Paying to watch just a single sports match on Showmax instead of paying the full premium price could work out positively.

Yup for one match, it would probably cost R300 for one match.

If not for Supersport, DSTV would be much cheaper though. Sports licenses comprise the vast majority of DSTV's costs.

Yeah, well it used to be sport was 2/3rds of their content costs. It's around 1/3rd now, probably thanks to them putting an effort into showing some series as their in the US.

Source? Since my step-dad played golf with a Multichoice exec a few years ago and chatted a lot about why they charge what they do, I've assumed that it is still true that DSTV is basically Supersport with some extra stuff thrown in.

Their customer service is pathetic.

Can't get through to the Call Centre

Self Service App contains 7 out of about 30 error codes that you can actually clear yourself online

Their so called forum is a pathetic mess

Premium just became too expensive. I migrated to compact during EPL season and to access (R99) during the off season.

Why pay close to R1000 just to watch sports and tv shows airing same time as in the US. DSTV Premium is too expensive.
