I recently had my laptop stolen after a break-in and decided to buy a new one with the insurance pay-out. What follows is the email exchange I've endured over the course of the last two months trying to acquire a new one from FHG Technologies (BoB Verified User):

http://pastebin.com/yT9Xc5Pq

The latest entries are from this morning.

As you can see, I tried to stay optimistic and civil throughout the fiasco. The few times the vendor bothered replying, I either didn't get an explanation or the one I did receive made little-to-no sense.

Since I've never received such poor service in my life, I thought I'd share my experience as a cautionary tale to anyone thinking of purchasing from them.

TL;DR: do not purchase from FHG unless you enjoy disappointment.

Therein lies your mistake.

link blocked at work, anyone care to paste in here

edit: in the hardware bargains thread there's a 4tb for around 1.6k on BOB <-- i guess that means i should just ignore that special huh

Holy Crap. 2 months of excuses.

I see you asked for a refund.

Correct me if Im wrong but doesn't BoB hold the cash in security until package is delivered?

Then only is the vendor paid?

You're right except I had to get a quote first for insurance purposes, so I ended up dealing directly with the co instead of using BoB. I also paid for express delivery + an adapter as extras to the original listing. Neither of which were included in the end. *face-palm*

How sure are you that you will actually get the package?

akuma,
I agree, you remained civil and respectful during this whole order fiasco, well done.

As for FHG Technologies, you should have really provided more feedback to the client. Also, as mentioned since you are an authorized vendor, you should have known about any delivery delays.

Wow, you had quite the unfortunate experience with this clearly incompetent seller at BOB (from 03 March 2014 to 12 May 2014). May incidents like this teach other sellers that all it takes to loose trust from buyers in SA is one bad experience from a customer posted on MyBB.

I used to buy from BOB in the past and have been fortunate to have had great experiences but after reading your post, I will never buy from this seller (FHG Technologies) in support of a better customer experience on BOB. Wish BOB can also just ban this seller to avoid further embarrassment at the hands of this seller. Good luck to any future buyers attempting a purchase from FHG Technologies.

Well this is more of a problem, because they do sweet FA about it. Been numerous similar complaints where scammers are exposed and BoB do nothing. As long as they take their cut out of the scams they are cool with it.
