So in August I applied for fiber(installed in my neighbourhood finally!!!). And in October OpenServe contacted me to install my fiber. So the guys came, installed it nice and neat. And I was told a technician will come to activate it within 48 hours. No one came even though the fiber was installed.

Called open serve a few times and they said technicians have loads of clients to get up and running so please be patient.

We’re in December now and I contacted OpenServe. According to them I never applied for fiber and even the order number doesn’t exist. They don’t know how it was installed seeing as I never applied. Wtf right.

I contacted Axxess to get OpenServe fiber though them. They sent me a router and contacted me today. They can’t go ahead with the fiber because I already have a pending order with OpenServe. But OpenServe also can’t find the order just that on their system Axxess can’t go ahead. Even though there is no OpenServe order. Their system is blocking me because an order OpenServe can’t find is stopping Axxess.

So what the hell do I do? In the meantime I get 2 to 3 passive aggressive messages daily from Telkom telling me to upgrade to fiber because the ADSL is going to be cut off in the near future in my area.

My fiber finally got up and running in December. Axxess let me know that OpenServe was taking too long to release the B-Number into the pool so they will activate it on port 2. Done and my internet was working. Axxess told me to cancel what was on port 1 or leave it because if it's in the pool after a set amount of time Telkom cancels it.

I went ahead and cancelled with Telkom what was on port 1 and there was no issue. Now I got a R3000 bill from Telkom for the installation etc. But my fiber is OpenServe but Axxess is the ISP because it all was done through Axxess. Axxess just says it my battle with Telkom and not with them. But the fiber was applied for with Axxess and the day OpenServe came to activate my fiber on port 1 they also said they aren't giving me any user details as I must use what is given to me by my ISP.

I have no idea what's going on. Telkom says pay up and Axxess says not our problem. What should I do

Did you apply with Telkom or not?

Initially when the fiber was installed. But that order went "missing" and there was no trace of the original order. Actually to the point where Telkom argued that it could not have been their fiber as they have no record of fiber being installed. The invoice I got also shows charges since September, and I had no fiber, The ONT and setup was only done on the 15th of December when OpenServe came to do the Axxess fiber.

Yeah it's a tricky situation if you signed off on it then they can chase you for backing out of the agreement, if they couldnt find the agreement when you called in then request the call recording.

Does Axxess still have the buyout option maybe?

Telkom should do the right thing but it's unlikely.

What's a buyout option? Sorry for my ignorance

See if they still have it, they buyout your obligations by crediting your account.
Will contact them and see what they say. Thanks for all your replies I really appreciate it.
