Fibre in Moreleta Park

Can you guys perhaps state where about in Moreleta you are?

I am in Timbavati street at the end in Vista Valley and Fibre doesn't seem in sight yet

HI All

The fibre installs looks good in the area. Does anyone have a contact or a number to speed up installs in a complex, our complex did apply for fibre, however I have not seen any progress yet. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you're referring to FTTH infrastructure installed by Telkom, there's a division in Telkom that deals specifically with estates (aka "Lifestyle communities") and complexes ("Gated Communities").
Try getting in touch with the people from Telkom's Gated Community Services (GCS) division as described in this post.

Thanks jcheek - already sent them an email to find out if and when the scheduled installation will be. Hopefully the waiting period is not too bad...

As always with Telkom, I don't think it will be quite that easy (sorry) !
I had only minimal response to emails sent to the gcs@ address, to be honest. I did better by calling the 0800- number and (eventually) getting to speak to a lady who was quite switched on.
You may have more/different luck ...

@ jcheek Thanks for the info, will definitely get in contact with the correct team.

@GC.VANAS: I'm in Pin Oak - C/O Timbavati Street and Paul. Do you know if Telkom or contractors started to install inside your complex?
I think the strip along Wekker/your side will switch on very soon. I've seen contractors pull fibre in the manhole at C/O Jacques and Wekker.

Is it just me or is this light purple map from Telkom not changing at all. Assume the strike also pushed the deadlines back even more...

So close but yet so far... Patiently waiting for the fibre (naaaaaht!)

Telkom spent 6 hours installing mine today.
Worth it in the end :D

Again busy with pulling fibre in Jacques street.
Lost of blocked pipes but they are getting there.
Also the "Areal" cable is being pulled currently in Rubenstein area which is a good sign apparently(Heard from telkom guy and the fibre guy).
Got a call from VOX and they said they got a notification that fibre will be available soon, do i want to pre register....

So all and all, seems promising...

A technician was busy testing the fibre outside my complex about Wednesday last week, he estimated that it should be active soon. I really cannot wait anymore!

Well, I live in Moreleta Village, a boomed area between Hans Strydom and Rubenstein.

The aerial fibre has been pulled through to the top of the post at the end of my stand. Been that way for 1-2 months now. All attempts to find out from Telkom when I can get fibre has resulted in NOTHING.

*SIGH*

Telkom is Telkom :(

So the good news is... Telkom are installing Fibre into our complex tomorrow, corner of Wekker and Timbivati Road. Will be able to hear when we will be able to go live tomorrow afternoon.

Now the only choice is which ISP to go for.

Hey, Telkom has updated the map, a lot of new places now have fibre available. Yes please!
