Hi all. My fibre was recently installed but I noted something. Theres some spots in the housr where i get alot slower speeds? I get 40mbps when im close to the router but when i move away from router it drops to like 5mbps. I stay in an apartment so place is not that big. Any suggestions on what I can try or do? Thanks

So what you actually mean is your WIFI speeds are slower the further you get from the router?

Probably congestion of the wifi radio spectrum.

Given that you are in an apartment building with likely many other wifi users, you need to install an app to analyse the wifi spectrum and see which are the most and least congested channels, then you set your router to use the less congested channels. If you router has additional 5GHz wifi (vs the more common 2.4GHz wifi) or you get a 5GHz wifi access point or router, there should be less congestion on that frequency. 5GHz has less penetrating power thus less distance, so it has its own negatives.

Get yourself a propper router / access point.

https://www.amplifi.com

I use the Apple Airport Extreme, and bought the above one to play with, give similar results.

Ubiquiti APs also great.

I have a 100/100 fibre and get 90% of the speed over wifi everywhere.
