Fifa 2010

killa

i admire your instant urge to just go out and buy the friggin thing!
im near cresta aswell? where did you end up purchasing. bundle or what ?

Ummm i bought it at that shop arggg can't remember it's name.

Big shop across the way from vodashop, the big book store then the shop. Could be look and listen.

I bought the slim for 3899, fifa for 649 and hdmi cable for 399.

Yea i am an impulse buyer, if i get something in my head i just go and ps3 sounds far better than xbox.

Brawler how do you mean running a cable? Can i stream it off my hdmi connection or do i need to go with the video input? I got the network cable all setup and working. How do i connect to my windows 7 pc, static ip's or what?

Lol dude - for a hectlicly clued up computer guy you are quite doff with a console :D:p

Your ps3 has a ethernet port & wifi. Run an ethernet cable from your ps3 to the same router that your pc is connected to and viola. You can browse your pcs music/videos/pictures from your chair.

LOL, this is my first console dammit :D

Yes i got my ethernet cable hooked up and working, so it will auto detect my shared folders then? Damn this playstation takes long to update everything hehe.

Consider it a mini pc then, might make it easier for you :)
Just play around with the PC's settings - I got my Vista machine sharing in minutes but I can't comment on windows 7.

This is how I did it.
1. Go into networking and enable media sharing.
2. Open WMP and add the folders you want to your library.

My pcs name just popped up on my consoles video, pictures and music tabs.

There are also a lot of other programs that do this better than windows but I havent tried them, also only had the console for a few weeks.

Yea i know nothing about consoles mini pc's and what not but will do this. I will know tons though by tomorrow morning :p

Thanx :D.

Alright got the networking, wow that was to easy :D.

How awesome man now i can do away with my netbook at a stream and use the PS, this is flippin insane man.

Welcome to the Slim club :)

On the topic of videos, there's a list of compatible codecs and containers from Sony:
http://manuals.playstation.net/document/en/ps3/current/video/filetypes.html

In addition, no matter what people tell you, the PS3 DOES support MKV, just not very well.

You're best off either transcoding on the fly using TVersity (or mediatomb if you ever go back to Linux) or putting your videos into a new container like MP4.

For fifa 2010 do i need to join a group or just select online, does it look for local games.

How does it work? Obviously i won't play online until i can beat the likes of stoke city 4-0 :D and not lose hahah.

I am using a hd ready projecter, lg one :D

I can only imagine how awesome it must be on a full hd tv 1080p, i am only running at 720p but still looks incredible. Although i am not complaining about 150"s of 720p awesomeness.

My buddie runs his ps3 off a 74" tv and it looks awful, you seriously need a hd tv/projector to enjoy it i reckon.
