The speed and the size of the Koreans are going to be a challenge, probably a penalty or a few close calls awaiting us.

But we do have the speed as well in our attack and they don't have any size advantage like Czech Republic. Should we unleash Makgopa from the beginning based on their size?

I can agree, but have you seen the stats? How could you not score having that statistical advantage? That is going to be hard and harsh questions back at the English camp.

Had this discussion with someone the other day and if we could get school football on the level of school rugby the entire country would be better off. The goverment needs to be pouring money (just use the billions we keep bailing SAA out with) into school / grass routes football done properly and managed by a NGO or privately.

If you take school boy rugby as an example it is massive clashes every week with big tournaments, great facilities and tv broadcasts. Kids at the school talk and hype the game up the whole week and bascially plan their weekend around it. If South Africa could manage this with football just imagine the opportunity we would give so many youngsters and the quality of players we would produce with some youngsters possibly getting into European acadamies. It seems like such an obvious solution that would have a massive impact on the entire country and just boost moral.

Yeah, watching our local players vs. the other African nations is a sad experience. Pretty much all of them have at least one to two AAA talents and quite a higher overall team rating than our guys.

Aren't you guys imagining things though? There is a good reason why South Africa is there, we competed and qualified, our local teams are very competitive in CAF championship, Sundowns are the current champs, when last did you see a team from Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon or Ivory Coast in the higher stages of CAF champion's league?

There is absolutely nothing out of the ordinary with us compared to the other African teams competing there, Tunisia is the one that is already eliminated having conceded a lot of goals, sometimes I think there is a lot of self hate on South Africans, for some odd reason.

You question is strange, why do you think the defender lunged like that? If the defender was in front, why was he unable to easily clear the ball?

I will tell you why to save time, he was beaten for pace, realising the attacker was on his way to goal, he had to lunge out like that, totally missed the ball and got the man.

But the bone of contention here is not about whether it's a penalty or not, the referee could have a different interpretation, although it's hard to see how, but still he is the man and could see things differently, the problem for me is that you have a big decision like that and no one thinks it's even worthy of a second look, I doubt you can look me in the eye and tell me there is nothing to see here.

I can see why the ref did not give it, and initially I agreed with him. But if VAR had reviewed it this was a penalty. They are not "contesting the same ball", the defender launches himself to impede the striker. It's clear on the extended clips.

You have watched it six times, and not once did you notice that white never intended to play the ball? First, but without touch?

I have said before i'm a casual. So I'm saying that I don't understand what the issue is here.

In other cases its been obvious and makes sense, I just don't see what people are making an issue about.
I understand why they would relook at it... I just don't see how this contact makes people want to question the entire tournament ?

Earlier on in that game two players jumped and bumped their heads... looks like exactly the same situation to me.
