The world will continue to enjoy these sports with or without them. These sports are not compatible with their hotdog culture. Hopefully, now that the US is out of the worldcup we will hear less of this US commentator, he is just too much.

He just randomly discusses in the beginning of a game, that one of the team's strategies might be to get penalties in the box. Thats just sinister saying things like this out loud, as we can see they will eventually start changing the rules to suit themselves as and when they require. Only time they a real force anywhere is when they rig things.

This is literally what happens in football. Simulation is a massive part of the game. It is a blight on the sport but it is a fact that players are coached to go down and especially so in and around the box.

Saying it out loud is good, because it is something that needs to be rooted out of the game..

And this world cup has been particularly good at not awarding diving.

Maybe one can discuss it during a half time break. But to be supportive and discuss it at start of the game like its part of the game plan is just out of place. It goes against the grain, when it comes to how commentary is done. Half of the time this US commentator is saying things that makes you wonder does he actually understand how the game works or is he just saying things because he is paid to be on air, its just cringe.

For the men, it is nowhere near as popular, even though there is more money in the MLS compared to the women's equivalent. Saying all of the above, the US are World Cup regulars and despite the sport being nowhere near a national sport or even having mainstream support, they tend to be competitive. The Balogun BS aside, they made the Round of 16 on merit, getting as far as Brazil. Not even Germany and the Netherlands got as far as they did and Italy haven't qualified for a World Cup in 12-years.

India and China, now there are two nations that should have some explaining to do. Combined 2.8 billion people and only one fortuitous World Cup appearance between them.

The US's confederation is a lot weaker then either Italy, China or India face and they still failed to qualify in 2018.
Its only them, mexico, canada and the Caribbean islands.
