Fight against SA's Affirmative Action

Where did I blame white people? Read all my posts on this site, not even once have ever blamed any person based on their colour. What makes me sad is people missing the "good old days". The post I responded to is nothing short of being racist.

How the heck is a referendum racist?

Um, you realise that the Nats got the majority of the white vote, how can you say the majority hated it?

40 years of apartheid ended 20 years ago. Thats 60 years. Those original 'voters' at age 18, would now be youngest 78. All those who supported Nats are either dead or very very old now. Those born into apartheid, lets say on day one of apartheid, were only able to vote 18-22 years in(depending on election year/birthday). Those voters are 60+ now. Do the math. People born into apartheid, by voting age were against it, thats where they lost the numbers and majority voted against it.

Edit... and yes, the last decade or so was the bleed period where the 'old school' voters died off

Voting on whether to give other people of a different colour than you certain rights or not, is racist. Even now, if current government were to say black people should vote on whether to scrap AA or not. I'll come to this forum, with the same amount of anger I have now to denounce it as racist because it talks of colour and nothing more.

Don't talk nonsense.
It wouldn't have lasted 40 years and been economically successful without the support of white people and white business.
It was only bankrupt at the end because of international sanctions and that's also the only reason that white people voted to end it.
For 40 years white people ran successful businesses, supporting apartheid laws, and voted for the Nats in every election.

Fast forward to 2015 and what's the difference? It's the ANC's turn, 21 years in. Thanks, black people. <- that one is for you, joelus.

I know my history thank you. Who gave other humans a right to vote if, should other humans of a different colour be afforded a right to live peaceful in their land of birth. I am against that.

Even right now I see so called straight people voting on granting gay or lesbian people rights to marry. Who gave them that right? People should be able to live freely.

Now back to the topic, these so called BBBEE and AA policies have been implemented incorrectly and the majority of people don't benefit from them.
Your analogy is still wrong. Calling people criminals that never participated or had a say in a crime is going to piss off people.

.
How else do you make an government change its policies? You vote against the government. Democracy ! Yes the laws shouldn't have existed in the first place, what other way do you propose getting government to change? On the subject of gay people, why are they excluded from aa policies?

Change in government? Maybe that is what they are trying to do, show how wrongly it is implemented? Not that the UN is worth anything.

Very little but that doesn't mean you didn't (and don't) have advantages over non-whites because of apartheid.

Like I said, I went to the same schools as non-whites and the two universities I have been to have had majority non-white student bodies. I was also denied a learnership fresh out of high school purely because I lacked skin pigmentation. So really, you can come off of it if you are trying to infer that I am ''privileged'' in some way.

20kids? who has 20kids? Is this a norm in the black population or are you just talking crap as usual?
The norm in South Africa is somewhere between 5 and 6 kids per woman if memory serves. Still pretty bad considering how desperately poor our people are. Most African countries are around that or higher. European countries by comparison average usually around 1-3 kids per woman.

Everyday we busy debating racial issues instead of dealing with the problems we facing. Our so called leaders are using us as pawn in their game to cling to power. We ended up focusing on black and white instead of seeing the problems we facing as they are. Problem now is not black or white, but poor service delivery, corruption, incompetence in government etc

True, but they didn't create apartheid, majority hated it and were against it, they were born into it. Many white people died in the 'struggle' along side their black brothers and sisters. Making statements like 'white people created apartheid' isn't true, a few white *******s created it. Majority of white people had nothing to do with it and did not benefit. They had more rights and were treated better, but the average joe in the street didn't benefit, they were better off than other races yes, but majority were and still are lower and middle class. Only a few benefited, the top elite, just like the government now, only a handful benefit, the rest of us, black, white, whatever, all trudge along doing our best to keep our heads above water.

Lol you are full of jokes. :D:D:D

So is a mere referendum meant to atone for what went on in SA when white were in power? BS

Do you not think that this referendum actually shows better the sentiment of the general white population [6.8 out every 10 whites, just to make the maths easy on you] made a change when they could. What more would you want ? If they all voted No, then i could understand your sentiment. But just as much love as you have for Mandela for what he did, this 6.8/10 whitey deserves it as well.

And also, you don't 'fix' the past by doing the exact same thing that were 'wrong' with the past, and that is what is happening now. Also remember, one cannot change the past [we can change the perception of the past, but not the actions], yet we can and should change the present and the future.

So go home, have a good cry about the past, and wake up, realise that the struggle is all too real, and it's alive today, and its not white vs black, rich vs poor, it's US vs the people in power.

On the gay part it was just an example unrelated to this topic but to humanity as a whole.

BEE is seen by certain people as benefitting the majority when in essence it benefits a very few people in high places.

I must say I read your first post and I was like WTF :D. I didn't even understand what you were trying to say.

but all your subsequent posts I agree with.

Education is where most of the time and effort should be spent in order to create an employable workforce with skills.

Bill Clinton was never impeached. They started the process but he was found not guilty of lying.
Jacob Zuma was cleared of rape after the victim admitted to fabricating the charges and a conspiracy was revealed.

Just to clear that up with you.

BS she never admitted anything. The judge accepted Zuma's version of events.

Um your conclusions are flawed..

Last Old South African general election was in 1989 (after 1987 and 1984)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/South_African_general_election,_1989

The Nats and Conservatives got 79% of the vote (both supported Apartheid)

1989 was 26 years ago, an 18 year old then would now be 44. For people still working (44 to 60 years old) we have a generation of people currently holding the most senior jobs in business and in our economy that voted for the continuation of apartheid at one stage in their lives.

Don't come here with facts and figures:p

Settle down, no one is blaming you. You did however benefit.

To jump in here. Not all whites benefitted, we were dirt poor whilest i was growing up, my father cleaned trains that were travelling between jhb and soweto, he got spat on, swore at, and abused by the blacks that took those trains on a daily bases. I can still remember nights [as a 4/5 yo] where we didn't eat, So please, I beg you, where did I benefit from apartheid ?

Ever since i went to school, I didn't make the district teams for sport, because it had to be 60% black, I didn't qualify for scholarships because I wasn't 'black' enough. So my whole so far have been disadvantaged because I'm white [do you actually see a patern here ????].

Stop living this ANC propaganda that ALL whites benefited from apartheid. Either show proof that ALL whites benefited, or retract your statement, and stop saying that.

Let me ask you this, do all black benefit from BEE ???
