Got me some nice looking fillet steaks to throw on the grill for supper and feel like a change from the usual - anyone have any ideas for a marinade/seasoning?

Not a major fan of cheddermelts but the missus is. My idea of cheese and steak is a fillet, stuffed with stilton, wrapped in bacon and served with a port wine sauce . . . . but I want to braai tonight. :D

Marinade in this for 20 minutes. Just before grilling, grind some course salt on both sides, and grill to perfection :)

Seems interesting - not sure if we have any peach chutney though.

If you grind coarse salt is it still coarse?

My trusted method for cuts of steak, not really for a big fillet, is as follows:

Juice of one lemon,
Liberal amount Worcestershire sauce,
Liberal Tomato sauce (All Gold or Heinz),
Mixed Herbs - about 1 tablespoon
a small amount of oil.

Mix all above and allow steak to marinade in it at room temp for a few hours.
BBQ.
Eat.

FYI - at Giovanni's in Greenpoint they have Jack Daniels BBQ sauce. There' is no booze in it. It's imported from the US.
