Hi guys,

I am looking for a mobo based on the 790GX chip.
Reason being, that I would prefer to buy an X3 720BE + said mobo + decent DDR3 ram.

I'm particularly looking for a gigabyte or MSI.

Does anyone know where I could find a gigabyte 790GX motherboard for sale in SA?

Save that, the MSI 790GX would suffice.

Advice?

Goodluck finding gigabyte amd boards in SA , i looked and could only find 2 basic ones :(

I've just bought an ASUS M4A78T-E......great board, paired it with a 720BE as well. Any particular reason you looking for Gigabyte/MSI board?

ASUS is very good - no issues.

It's like this:

Motherboards are like people. When looking at boards, ASUS is like a super hot, sexy 2nd cousin. Naughty, freely available. Makes one feel 'weird', though.
Gigabyte, is like the girl-next-door. Shy, friendly, beautiful, but her father's a church minister, so ja...
MSI is like the girl at teazers. Always down for a spanking, difficult to entice - but well worth it.

So I have no probs with ASUS, but Gigabyte makes me all warm inside. Dependable, not super fast, but always there when you need it.

So I'm kinda aiming for Gigabyte, but won't overlook ASUS neither.

:D

EDIT:

OK for the guys wondering about the 2nd cousin bit..

Genetically, it's fine. Since the genes are somewhat far removed. Sound grose, but fine.
If you have a prob with it, substitute the 2 with 3 or 4.
:D

EDIT: EDIT:

Ok so I'm freaking myself out now.
Substitute the 2nd cousin with very close friend.
:o

LOL! Don't worry dude, I understand...sort of :p

Can't seem to find a Gigabyte board, maybe try PM Itai and see if he can organise one

Give Cyberdyne a try - they stock MSI...
Rectron used to do the AMD Gigabyte boards, but no more for some reason...

You can find gigabyte amd boards on wantitall.co.za but you going to wait awhile for them as they are ordered from US.
