Firefox makes moves on Android

Busy downloading will install and report back with findings!

Awesome. If I can sync Firefox on my laptop with Firefox on my HTC desire, seamlessly, over the air, this will make a huge difference for productivity. The web browser on the HTC Desire is already really awesome. I wonder if Firefox Mobile will be able to keep with it. I have my doubts.

Let us know how the performance is. I reckon Webkit is probably gonna be better.

If you have the best default browser any phone could ask for on the Desire plus chrome 2 phone etc, what more could you possibly want?

I tried it out, it... a bit laggy (if i'm putting it right), and the file is relatively big (haha any size bigger than 10mb, I'd say it big, cos vodacom bundle price is too high).

The functions are awesome but to me, it runs slower than the default browser, dont know if it only me or is it everyone's.

Running it on a Nexus one

Well I'm not surprised. Webkit is super optimized and a faster engine than Gecko.

11.8mb :( Dolphin browser will have to suffice and it does that pretty well.

Its been on Maemo / Meego for some time now. Guess Andriod is a little locked down.

Sorry this thread is titled, "Firefox Makes a Move on Android". It is not called "let nokia fanboi's people troll this thread!"

Just gave you the proof you asked for yesterday - not trolling.

Right you proved to me that Symbian is not going anywhere. By using a thread that states that Firefox is coming to Android on a device that you say is closed source.

So by proving to me that Android is closed source you quote an article that shows new software coming to it:confused:

You did the opposite, well done:D

Its a bit sluggish and it doesn't render words & pics instantly when you zoom. I'll give the beta a skip and see what the full release is like. for Now Dolphin HD works great

Had this on about 2 weeks ago but got rid of it. It is awesome, but nowhere as fast as even the default browser on the Desire. Luckily it is still beta.

Another reason to get Android :D

can't wait :D
