Firmware Update

Zero rated firmware updates? Surely it is only a few meg.... shouldn't even feel it vanish from your 5/10gig....

@FlashSA, let's say you on the standard package example 100 meg, and to update your firmware is 40 meg roughly you would feel cheated of 40 megs bare in mind that you don't have uncapped internet as well and no access to hotspots.

Would be a great opportunity for Afrihost as well, if you have the same model MiFi/Dongle you can download the branded Afrihost software and be gone away with CELL C/Vodacom/8ta/mtn

AfriMan / AfriGuy / AfriGirl make afrihost website zero-rated/freezone webpage :) or do page like mifi2.afrihost.com zero-rated :P cause mifi.afrihost.com is already taken :) for MiFi :)

I forgot about the smaller packages, they would def feel it.

Unless there is a way for the update to be downloaded over an ADSL or something and then apply the update to the mifi over usb....

I am also trying to figure out which graphics were updated? Oh, AfriMan, please tell us.

This is probably a dumb question, but...

Is it safe to do an update over wifi or is it better to have the device plugged in?

It can be either or, as long as there is enough battery power to run the upgrade you'll be fine :)

Thanks.

I don't always have access to Windows and I'm struggling a bit to get it set up in Arch Linux (not that I've tried really hard).

Dude, Arch Linux is my nemesis! Tried so many times to get a healthy setup, never worked for me :(
Anyway, the device can charge via a wall socket and you can connect to it and upgrade via WiFi (Provided you've got WiFi working on Arch) :)
