Hi guys. I am getting my iPhone 4 today (:D) and will have to get rid of the o'l trusty first gen I've been carrying around for some time now.

How much do you think I will be able to sell it for? It has a few dents and scratches (never really used it in a case unfortunately). There is also a small crack next to the home button, but it does not affect the screen whatsoever. Battery life is still good, and I have an AT&T sim that will go with. I am keeping the sync cable, although dock will be included.

Still got mine as well as Backup. DONT LET GO OF IT! :P
They are truly amazing.

Good luck. I'd say R1500 max...

Some poor sod who gets caught up in the marketing hype and is clueless as to what a proper phone is actually capable of will probably fall for it and buy it from you. I personally would not subject someone to that.

Yeah I hear u, but i have it fully insured, that is what i am paying R140 a month for. :)
I want to hold on to it in some way, but I had to borrow half the money for iPhone 4 from the credit card. :) So it would help paying that down again.

I think it will depend on what i can get for it. I might have a few uses for it elsewhere too.... :D
Thanks for the response!

I had an iPhone 2G and there's very little you can't do with it. In fact Renier I wouldn't mind buying that from you if you're still interested in making a sale. I'm also located in Pretoria. How's the battery?

Personally, i think the battery life is still great on it. If you run bluetooth (permanently) and Push (via the Cydia crack for Unlocked phones) it chows the battery down to less than a day, but under normal circumstances, it goes 2-3 days easily (average use, not much gaming etc, up to 5 days if it is mostly on standby).
PM me your email acc, then I will send u a few photos then you can make me an offer. I am still deciding on whether or not to sell, but chances are I will get rid of it.
