Never buy ryobi. I bought their leaf blower when my gardener retired because I don't have the patience to rake. I used it perhaps 10 times before the bearing blew out. the bag didn't even make it that long, started ripping at the seams. Their drills and angle grinders are equally as bad, verging on disposable.

I'm using my grans Stiletto 5 wheeler mower she bought in the late 70s early 80s. That things basically become an heirloom. Gone through 3 homes and several gardeners. I've replaced the capacitor once or twice and was going to replace the cable last year but the replacement cables I found felt cheap. Ended up just fixing the joints properly and making them look pretty with some heat shrink over the insulation tape. you can barely notice them.

In my opinion, electric is cheaper to repair when the time comes.

I have a tiny ryobi electric lawnmower I got at game for R800 about 7 years ago to cut my 100 m² garden. It is still going strong every week.

So doing some quick calculations, I would suggest you get 8 of them for 800 m² garden.
The duty cycle on those Ryobi lawnmowers is 10 minutes on 6 days off

I also recently had to buy and went with an electric Wolf lawnmower and trimmer. Had to take the trimmer back due to a factory defect but the one it was replaced with was fine.

Did I say it?
DON'T GO NEAR RYOBI.
Biggest pos.
Now the twats who sell this crap are trying every trick in the book to not refund me.
Stay away from this pos.

Get the cheapest you can find.

I got this one last time, it's tiny. Thought it was a toy

So this one packed in just over 12 months so I returned it and got something a little larger yesterday.

It will also collapse after a few months.
Still in a twilight war zone with Ryobi. Not honouring their guarantee.

Ryobi are not meant for serious gardening. 2400W packed up after one summer. I got a little petrol 99c that I use to basically level the garden off but I bought a multi-tool that has a 33cc petrol motor and multiple heads from turfmaster. Starting used to be a bitch but its such a lovely machine.
