FNB Connect Uncapped ADSL Feedback

Hi, I've just about caught up on this thread but still can't decide. I'm currently using mweb 4mb uncapped adsl but hate being heavily throttled during the day even when not downloading. Can anyone advise if FNB would be a good choice?

PS: I do download torrents a lot, mostly through the night.
I tried torrents the other night after midnight. No dice. Got about 5KB/s.

I have the 4Mbps uncapped and my son plays online with his xBox and i've had no complaints.

I normally schedule my downloads after 11 pm and download on average 2 to 3 gigs day.that's fine with me for a free 2meg line

Ok it includes my daily usage to be fair but yeah easily 2 gigs at least.put it this way, I normally schedule 2 'distros' at night and in the morning they are almost always complete

I notice that on my Gold account they currently give me a discount of 80% on the uncapped FNB ADSL. (I am on rewards level 3).
But I think I read somewhere that this would be discontinued and people will have to pay for this fully? Or am I confused or something?

I qualify for the 100% discount from FNB - what would be the cheapest option to connect to this.
Would it just be the cost of the Telkom landline and Telkom ADSL line?

I suppose yes. Don't think it's available any longer but you could get free installation, adsl router and 3g dongle for R399 p.m. not tied down to a 24 month contract.

The offering might have changed form/names and possibly requires a 24 month contract now.

Got this SMS a few minutes ago: FNB :-) FNB Capped ADSL is falling away to make room for bigger, better Uncapped ADSL deals, ends 31/10/15. Reply U to upgrade. Queries 087 575 0001.

Interesting.
