FNB cuts prices for smart device range

Oh jeez, right you are. The 4s is R363 pm but with only a top up 30 contract? That sucks. Guess I'll have to tell my dad to keep waiting for a good deal.

This discount is bull****! If anyone actually gets this discount right I will personally drive to wherever you are in the world & shake your hand.

Well in that case Davedes, you better start driving since I just received a notifyMe that I received my R50 discount. Confirmed online - R50 back in cheque account!
Reality is I didn't even know what this was about until I received the payment/rebate - I activated the Tablet Offer on an iPad 3 WiFi/Cellular 32GB in July so this is obvious proof that existing customers are also rewarded. My CC spend usually exceeds R5k p/m and that gets paid automatically via DD from my cheque account in full avoiding any interest charges. I will never pay a cent for CC interest but will take 55 days free credit any day ;-)

Only thing I am not sure about (might have missed it) is whether the discount is revoked whenever you don't spend >R5k on your CC? Anyone?

All-in-all, seems I will likely be paying a total of R 6,126.00 (incl. VAT) for a device that retails cash outright for R 7,699.00 (incl. VAT) AFAIK. Above all, that includes time value of money i.e. negative interest for paying over time - impressive and not very common when compared to the cellular market.

Since I bank with FNB in any way, I also don't see factoring in their banking fees as an opportunity cost to take up the offer.

Will they have my business as long as they keep this up? I believe so...

You don't have to wait. If you have a dotFNB store in your area just pay them a visit. I walked out with my ipad in 30mins.

Does that mean we can choose what colour we want now if we go to the dot fnb stores?
