So this only applies to new clients?

New and existing FNB cheque and credit card customers can now qualify for an additional discount on the bank’s smartphone, tablet and laptop range.

I see they finally added iPhones as well, I was waiting for that at a stage but it never happened so I bought one. Now I want the Note 2 and they still only have the Note 1... hopefully they change that soon and then I will give my S3 to the wife and get myself a Note 2 :D

dont see this applying to existing clients who already have taken a deal.

yet another example why you dont get into a 24 month contract. even this one, coz in 6 months time they will be giving them away in party packs and all the people buying THIS special will be crying as well

same principle as mobile data and vodacom ripping everyone off with their "specials"

"1.4.2 Platinum Credit Card: R5 000 per calendar month"

Guess I screwed myself over in certain aspects going for platinum then. Spending R5,000 on your credit card every month is no small task simply to apply for R50-R100 discount.

Hmmmmm the samsung pocket is R45 per month so majority of people will qualify for the R50 discount, so basically FNB will pay us R5 to take out that contract????

Exactly what I was thinkin! The interest on that amount alone is more than the discount you seek, so whats the point?

55 day interest free period no longer applies?

I've been a platinum customer for a few years and I don't have (or have ever had) a credit card from FNB. I do have a cheque card with the Visa facility however so that obviously counts as spend, but it is still a debit card.

Edited for Clarity.

lol the 3rd word of the article confirms that existing customers qualify ;)

ask for discount too nice monthly profit.

Sell the 1 million for R20 each and make a nice bit of money.

there's always a catch....you have to spend r1500 on that cc to qualify.....corporate shenna****ns...

So does this still mean I am not able to get another device whilst im still paying off the one I currently have? Also how do you go about settling the device?

I am in the same boat.
Don't know why they won't let us take more than one device.

If you want to pay up early, you have to pay the difference between the retail price (not the FNB discount) and what you have paid already.

I was in the process of getting a smart phone from them but ended up canceling. Not prepared to wait 3 weeks for my phone when I can walk into any cellphone shop and walk out with the phone and only pay R50-R100 more per month...
