FNB Global Account Card

For those with multiple Global Debit card, does each one give you 10 visits?

I have a EUR account, and I get a USD one now does it give me another 10 visits?

OK phoned them and solved it.

Trick is to log in, then ignore the "Verify Card" details. Then go to My Account --> Profile, scroll down to Card Details, and Edit it.

Then enter the card details afresh and let it save.

That literally solved the issue for me and I can now see my entitlement and history etc.
Thank you so much!!!!!

I think it might - from what I can see it looks like separate accounts.

My Euro-card:

My USD card:

Interestingly enough both of them says 10 visits entitled and both says 10 remaining:

Is there a monthly fee with the extra count? Since the bundled option tells me I get 1 free global card with it.

Will be visiting Italy end of September/Early October.
I see the Rand is tanking badly against foreign currencies.

I note several websites that do exchange rate forecasting and they all predict a bad rand in the near future. Not sure how reliable these sites are however. But I guess in the long run one cant do wrong to expect the rand to tank in this country...

That being said, I am now strongly considering shifting all my travel savings to a EUR Global account.
Just waiting on the VISA to be approved (applied on Monday) and the moment I get the greenlight I will swing over some ZAR to EUR.

It's a gamble. The ZAR is always predicted to depreciate against the major currencies over the longer term. However, since it already took a big knock in recent weeks there is also a good chance it may recover a bit towards your planned trip if the world gets some good news. This was ABSA's update this morning:

The local unit started the session under pressure but managed to alter course and trade firmer intraday, buoyed by eased expectations of the Fed hiking its interest rates more aggressively and in anticipation of the next round of the SARB’s monetary policy announcement. After opening at R17.1110/$, the rand strengthened to a low of R16.9475/$ and ended the session at R17.0831/$.

On the data cards today, we look forward to domestic CPI print and an array of data releases from the UK, Eurozone, and US. The rand will take its direction from these events.

Expected ranges for the day:

  • USDZAR: R16.9200/$ – R17.1700/$
  • EURUSD: $1.0200 – $1.0275
  • GBPUSD: $1.2000 – $1.2075

Why isn't there a Canadian Dollars (CAD) card?

I know there is $, £ and € physical card but none for CAD.

How does FNB Global account compare to Standard's Shyft?
And where can I view the live rates for Shyft? I read somewhere their rates are better?

Why wait for the visa? You can do it without a visa.
Its been approved now. But yeah, was just being overly safe and didnt want to pull the trigger of buying EUR before the VISA is approved and then lose out on the spread of getting the money back out.
I always expect the worse. :p
