Global account should be perfect for thatAny other cards any one recommends just for an Emergency Back Up & Lounge Access.
Sadly Diners Club Won't Accept Me !
They've still not refunded me despite multiple phone conversations, support tickets, app chats etc. Everyone tells me it will (and should be refunded) but no one seems to actually get it done. It's well over a year now. FNB is an absolute dog show. 20 days left in this country, I couldn't care any more what they do or don't do with that account. And they probably going to charge you an insufficient funds fee still...![]()
Would you prefer to hold USD or dirham? Will it be better to open a USD account Or UAE Account ?
Mostly going to UAE.Would you prefer to hold USD or dirham?
It will. Which is why you need to pick the one you will find most useful.Mostly going to UAE.
If I spend in USD In the UAE will it not be an unnecessary conversion fee?
I had a FNB Global card in 2018. I logged in to fnb.co.za went to cards, selected Global account and did an online application. Collected card from branch a few days later. You can have 1 card with more than 1 currency.
Not held overseas.Quick question
Is having forex in these global accounts safe if the country is farcked with a state of emergency or are they held overseas and safe ?
Or just make a swift payment for the full amount? R50k limit is only on card paymentsNot held overseas.
In fact, the card is subject to the retarded SARB limit of R50k per transaction.
Good luck explaining to a foreign merchant that you need to split one payment into multiple ones for such a low amount.
ahhh no but what about my ebucks man...They've still not refunded me despite multiple phone conversations, support tickets, app chats etc. Everyone tells me it will (and should be refunded) but no one seems to actually get it done. It's well over a year now. FNB is an absolute dog show. 20 days left in this country, I couldn't care any more what they do or don't do with that account.
Not always possible, e.g., booking plane tickets, buying stuff online, etc.Or just make a swift payment for the full amount? R50k limit is only on card payments
Works for me. But then again I fly cattle class. Not always possible, e.g., booking plane tickets, buying stuff online, etc.
Everytime I have to explain this limit to a merchant, I can just picture their facial expression that goes with the thought "what a shithole country ZA is"
Sure, but even booking cattle class for a family of 5 will breach that puny limit.Works for me. But then again I fly cattle class.
I guess. My travel agent is local though. But I hear your point, the limit can be highly frustrating.Sure, but even booking cattle class for a family of 5 will breach that puny limit.
Move your money offshore, that's what I'm doing.
Why close it, just open the one you want?I thought the UAE account comes with a card.
Sadly they not offering a card and now I need to close this account any idea on how ?
They not offering a card with the account. Why close it, just open the one you want?
I never said use it. I said leave it open. They not offering a card with the account.
If I buy I still have to convert it in to Rands and use my debit card.
