My wife has never complained, but our Ecosport never leaves town so no long journey's (longest was Stutterheim which is only a slow hour away).
My complaint is that I find the seat too small for my large frame - I much prefer my Ranger's seats.

FORD ECOSPORT DRIVER SKIPS QUEUE … AND REGRETS IT
This dashcam footage shows the driver of a Ford EcoSport seemingly skip a queue of traffic waiting to turn left, only to be T-boned by an oncoming Opel.
The video shows the subcompact crossover drive past the stationary camera-equipped vehicle – which is apparently at the head of a queue waiting to turn left – and proceed to take the turn.
For some reason, the driver trusts that there is no oncoming traffic (a bus is blocking their view) … but that trust proves entirely misplaced.

I just wonder why anyone would still buy a Ford. From my experience, they don't give a flying F about their customers... and this has been proven by the recent Kuga debacle. Find something else to buy in 2019.

I have a fleet of 9 Rangers and an Ecosport. My dealer gives us 10/10 service every time.

Good for you. So, you are just writing off everything that people including myself have experienced, because of your brand loyalty. Don't think the comparison to Roux works here I'm afraid. I drive a VW... at least I can admit they have done some revolting things. They also owned up. Unlike Ford.

Ford nowadays is not bad at all. Was considering one, but their auto's are not quite up to standard.
And who is their right mind still drive a manual ?

People who don't have to sit in traffic for a lot. Do you know how much extra autos cost? Can buy a lot of fuel with that.
Agree on Ford autos being crap.
Oh, and another thing:
If a auto breaks, how much is it going to cost to repair compared to manual? Plan on keeping it 10+ years.

With my latest Ranger double cab, I chose manual again as I prefer the control on the open road, of being able to be in a lower gear than the auto would be at the right overtaking moment. At high speed, I can still drop down a gear for overtaking while my dad's auto will not kickdown.
If I lived in a high traffic city like JHB or CPT, an auto would be a no brainer. I just prefer the manual on the 3.2 Ranger and I have thorough experience with both gearboxes.

Have you had to travel past Fleet street on a daily basis ?
In a bakkie, auto does not make sense. Mine is dual clutch 6 speed. Does really nice on the open road. If you want it to kick down a gear simply floor it. Or you do have the option of manually change gears (like the formula 1 guys)

Yeah, I know it costs more. But I will never go back to manual ... don't know why I drove 20 odd years bothering with a clutch.

Well, the Ford EcoSport automatic I do have experience with and it is nice for short stay (thus trailer-less) trips.
Issue is its tow rating of 425kg, while my trailers GVM is like 449kg, and thus I cannot legally (per SA law and manufacturers specs) even tow my empty trailer with it. Now combine that with my 4 stud 108 PCD requirement and a manual Ecosport is my option. Luckily I don't sit in traffic much.
Have you had to travel past Fleet street on a daily basis ?

Still brilliant deals IMO. Considering a Picanto is now just short of R200k, the Ambiente Ecosport is a great second car for families....
If you see something dripping under your car, and it seems like an oil leak, the chances are that it is a water leak. I took mine in today to have one or two things fixed, including the 'oil leak'. And was informed, it is a water leak. Here is the thing. The technicians need to take out most of the engine to fix it. Why? Because it is some seal that starts leaking. The (good) news. It is part of a campaign, so no cost to you if they need to fix it. So, if you take your car for a service, ask them to check.
