Forum improvement suggestions

I'm new to this - have not read all replies, it woud take far too long so perhaps I'm repeating someone - apologies if so.
- the site looks very good but perhaps you can fit more replies per page by 'narrowing the per reply box' or increasing number of replies per page.
This is - I think - pg 8 of 8 - would be good if it were 50% less

Then change the Number of Posts to Show Per Page option.

Overall... it's a thumbs up!

Okay, now that I have used the new format for a wee bit, here are my thoughts:

Downside Stuff:

  • the size of the font where I write the msg is a wee bit small (I know my eyes are the greatest), but any chance of making it a little bigger?
  • the "post icons" are indiistinct once posted - it could simply be the way it looks in my browser?
  • once posted, is it at all possible for the default on page to take me to the end of the page?

Upside Stuff:

  • it took a bit to get used to the change in layout, but I think I am almost used to it and starting to like it
  • colours are softer on the eye ... was a little bright at first but I am used to it now
  • the polished look makes it look professional and should lure in the causual passerby ... and maybe one or two of the lurkers will now finally sign up? :p
  • The bold fonts are more distinctive!

Suggestions:

  • Is it possible to change the "report post" icon from black to red?

Overall it is a leap fwd and I think it can only get better, so thanks to all involved! ;)

The new layout looks nice. I have noticed one thing so far. When clicking on the "XXX&goto=newpost" link in an e-mail for any subscription received, it doesn't take me to last read post like it used to.

User selectable themes (as suggested by others).

User selectable fonts (not sure if that's possible, I mainly don't like the font used inside of quotes).

I don't know if this has been said yet but here goes:

  • In the new posts i used to be able to see in which subforum the post is in a neat line but now you have to actually try and find it sometimes it is a bit difficult.
  • In the settings(formely UserCP) i can't see who has posted the most latest to threads i am subscribed too which is a bit frustrating since if i close my browser it shows that i haven't read the thread so i open a thread that i read already.
  • I can't seem to find the button that used to say what threads i started which is sometimes useful so i don't have to search all over to find a thread i created.
  • The subscribed groups and discussions just doesn't feel "right" can't exactly explain it

Hope it helps
Peder

If u guys could bring back the "forum jump" navigation that used to be at the bottom of the page that would be great. Else im loving the new look!

It's still there - the drop down menu that says Quick Navigation.

New forum

As i am a Noobie to the forum I have no idea what the old one looked or operated like, but have to say I appreciate the efforts put in to improve anything, Sometimes improvements are not always received or understood by everyone. Keep up the good work.:)

A great improvement visually. Although, as I'm typing this I am finding the text in this reply box is too small.

I don't know if anyone has mentioned it yet, but I preferred the old quick navigation drop down list at the end of the posts.. I would frequently just press the "go" button to return to the forum/sub-forum I was currently in..
