The DJ has a point ito;
  • inconsistency with regard to infractions
  • inconsistency ito of rule interpretation

Also his question about sermons in PD has not been answered properly / not at all.

Personally I feel if someone wants to tell his story (about how his deity influenced him) better do it in OT.
Generally my view is this; if a topic is going to offend you stay out of the mentioned thread.

Philosophical Debates are for debates... If you just want to post your story and don't want to debate a point of view then post it in Off Topic.

I have two. One for swearing and another for insulting, because i used a swear-word. So two for swearing (the post merely had the f-word in it, that was all), just one dressed up as something else.

Which is why I don't bother with TK any longer. A certain mod in there is abusing his position...

I gave my view on the Toyota 86 from day 1, it's not my fault you bought the car.
Are we not allowed to hate on lousy slow cars?
If you take something personal on the Internet find a red couch to vent your feelings on...

Calm down, no need to get so sensitive and defensive, I wasn't referring to a specific thread.

And yes, I agree that the no swearing rule is harsh for a forum meant for adults. It is allowed on forums far larger than this. It's disturbing that disruptive behavior is tolerated but swearing is not.

What is an infraction? What does it do? Does it slow down your internet connection?

With regards to the no swearing rule aikhona RPM that's reverse trolling the members

Not sensitive at all, you clearly have the the 86 thread personally and yes you are referring to that thread.

Nobodies swearing, which swear words have 3 letters?

  • Swearing is not allowed, so please try to keep it clean.

Don't agree. We're all adults here and the forum does censor the words anyway. (Does it censor the entire word or just the middle part though?)

Being a militant atheist I find sermons posted by religious zealots highly offensive. Religion has no place on this forum.
Being a militant zealot, I don't give a flying f......:erm:........rat's .....:erm:.........behind.... about what you get offended about

I love how alf101 is banned for suggesting that killa deal with his issues through a therapist (an issue he's vocalised himself, so not an insult) yet the trolls don't have a single post removed. This place has well and truly gone to the dogs.

Seems all one is allowed to do around these parts nowadays is post 'yes' or 'no'.

Unless of course you want to sock puppet and troll. And especially doesn't count if you are a re-spawned from a banning troll.

Mybroadband have dropped the ball over the last year or so. Far too much focus on monetising every aspect of the site and very little time spent on the forum and forum members.

Go ahead - ban away. Eventually you'll be left with the trolls and the clones. Hardly any of the level-headed posters remain on the forum. Most of the PD guys are gone. Most of the CA guys don't bother any longer. Off Topic hardly brings a smirk to faces these days. And the trolls have infested the tech side of things too, turning every debate into an argument based on their fanboism.

But you want to continue imposing ridiculous rules across the board because some people don't like the word 'fsck' even when appropriately used to convey emotion/tone. Additionally, instead of resolving biased and pathetic moderation, you repost the rules, as if that's somehow going to solve the problems.

Thumbs down here. Going on 50k posts and I haven't seen the forum hit such a pathetic low across the board. Not even through the Debbie/halycon debacle...

One of the biggest problems is that the mods always side with the retards without using their own discretion to issue bans and infractions.

Why are the moderators not deleting the posts that contain "naughty words"? And why are no infractions being issued?

You just posted the rules yesterday and they haven't been enforced by the mods from the get-go. What gives?

Off the top of my head it could be because the litany of rbps you've been making are largely for words that consist of a series of asterixis. Since there is no discernible violation of the rules there is no need for any action to be taken by anyone, including yourself.

You're also not privy to warnings or infractions that have been issued to anyone other than yourself.

Personally I think it only fair that a grace period be considered, the revised set of forum rules were only posted yesterday.

AA has shown that a grace period can be manipulated by the powers that be and be very one sided when implemented. Therefor I don't agree with your statement. When you make rules, enforce them.

Also would like to add, if a post is reported and mods do not agree with the report, then give feedback to the one who reported the post.

Serious question w.r.t. the swearing rule. Which of the following would be crossing the line?

**** (completely censored, but you know I mean the f-word)
f00k
fock
fsck
f**k
f*k

Secondly, if any of the above cross the line, but are not the actual swear word, how do you plan on enforcing this rule and who will judge the severity of these less offensive versions? Will a standard be set in place? Will this be communicated to the members? Or should we stick to "gosh", "golly", and "darn" ?
