What is an infraction? What does it do? Does it slow down your internet connection?
With regards to the no swearing rule aikhona RPM that's reverse trolling the members
...
Or should we stick to "gosh", "golly", and "darn" ?
OK Fine.
Wtf, he's banned? :wtf:I love how alf101 is banned for suggesting that killa deal with his issues through a therapist (an issue he's vocalised himself, so not an insult) yet the trolls don't have a single post removed. This place has well and truly gone to the dogs.
I utterly disagree with the swearing thing personally, but I can understand it considering the forum is fairly commercially connected, and there's nothing stopping a ten year old from browsing the site.
Wtf, he's banned? :wtf:
Nothing stops a 10 year old visiting a S&M site with naked midgets covered in chocolate
Hi folks
Over the last few weeks we received many complaints about trolling and other bad forum behaviour.
We have drawn up a summary of the forum rules. These are obviously not comprehensive or detailed (hence the term summary) – this is done to make it easy to read and to know what is acceptable and what is not.
Your feedback about these forum rules will be great. If you think something important should be added, please let us know.
Strict forum rules (infraction offense)
- No spamming the forum, advertising or asking for money or goods (even for a good cause or charity)
- No personal attacks, insulting other members or threats towards others
- No racist posts or racial slurs
- No encouraging of any illegal activities. It can be discussed, but not encouraged.
- No posting of inappropriate or disturbing material (porn, lewd images, racist posts, etc)
- No posts which constitutes defamation, harassment, or abuse
Encouraged activity (repeated warnings will result in infraction)
- Respect other members and the moderators. They make the forums a great place
- Be friendly to new members. Help them if needed.
- Stay on topic. Derailing threads are frowned upon.
- In debates, focus on the issue and never the member. Hence, play the ball, not the player.
- Report spam. This helps the mods to keep the forum clean.
- Swearing is not allowed, so please try to keep it clean.
Probably a temporary ban.

Seems all one is allowed to do around these parts nowadays is post 'yes' or 'no'.
Unless of course you want to sock puppet and troll. And especially doesn't count if you are a re-spawned from a banning troll.
Mybroadband have dropped the ball over the last year or so. Far too much focus on monetising every aspect of the site and very little time spent on the forum and forum members.
Go ahead - ban away. Eventually you'll be left with the trolls and the clones. Hardly any of the level-headed posters remain on the forum. Most of the PD guys are gone. Most of the CA guys don't bother any longer. Off Topic hardly brings a smirk to faces these days. And the trolls have infested the tech side of things too, turning every debate into an argument based on their fanboism.
But you want to continue imposing ridiculous rules across the board because some people don't like the word 'fsck' even when appropriately used to convey emotion/tone. Additionally, instead of resolving biased and pathetic moderation, you repost the rules, as if that's somehow going to solve the problems.
Thumbs down here. Going on 50k posts and I haven't seen the forum hit such a pathetic low across the board. Not even through the Debbie/halycon debacle...
Alf got banned!!
Well he deserved it tbh
No cheerleading

Maybe myBB needs to a sub section where off topic and/or controversial threads and/or threads where the forums rules and regulations are being contravened can be moved.
Like a naughty corner... There, the parties intent on continuing their blasphemous behavior can do so without impacting other forumites.
