Freak Speeds

Has anyone else experienced this:

I was on DC++ and my current download went from the standard 30kB/s to 6.8mB/s. It wasnt just a spike, I got 1gb down in a few minutes and the data was actually transfered. I've got a screenshot to prove it.

Any explanations or theories?

Telkom and MNet are running HDTV/IP-TV (or something) trials. I would think that they need a large amount of bandwidth for it... Maybe they accidently put you on the trial.

Is this consistent? Try a local speed test!!

Exactly why I brought it up. If I wasnt capped I'd post it on some image sharing site. I'm not lying the data came down. I dont know if there was some weird caching going on or something, but it definately came down in about 10 minutes.

If I was more awake I would've quickly done a speed test or summing. But it only lasted for 10 minutes.
