Free data ends today?

Yip, got several data contracts on VC, and all the ones I can access (where V4me doesnt give error on account info) shows today's new data will expire end of this month

But didn't it always say that? My contract bundle says the same, I suppose you will only know at the end of the month and see if remaining data rolls over or not.

The problem with contract bundle roll-over is that you have to use up your new months bundle before you chew into your rolled over data, so you can effectively only roll over every second month.
 
i dunno, i'm sure it 'used' to show expiry end of the following month.
i remember carrying over data to the next month, last month still.
now all the contracts that still had data leftover yesterday from last month, lost it all, and now only have this month's allocation

I had carry over last month, so I would expect not to have anything this month. So whatever data I have left at the end of Sep will roll over into Oct.
 
Okay, so by the looks of things...vodacom is giving people the 30 mins free data with the wi-fi..wow amazing:rolleyes:.....just wasted 30mb of the cap on updated phone software and the dam connection went dead 5 times! big ups to vodacom hsdpa:mad::rolleyes:

Wireless g good for the poeple who have the 7.2, for the 3.6 no show...

you're in luck - IIRC the software update page on vodacom's website doesn't take away your data.
 
thanks keeper, but my mobile phone update was via its own software package not manually downloadable like whats on the vc site - got 20mb left so it did take ALOT than the 30mb I though....really sad day in cellphone land...knock off the last 20mb...and MTN 10mb here i come...
 
This thread is funny. People getting worked up about Mb's of data :) Maybe in 10 years it will be Gb's :)
 
So i bought a 5meg bundle just now just to do some online banking and i was surfing away and then i got the 4000kb left sms only after about 30secs i was like WTF!!! 30mb does not take that quick to disappear then i remembered THE PROMOTION IS OVER!!!! Vodacom please i dont think i can go back to the way it was before!!!! please help us poor data addicted consumers!

I think that VC should become creative and not just follow the latest MTN promotion.
And whatever they do the application date must be 1/9/2009 to cover their loyal contract and Top up customers who would have loaded their data bundles today.
Lets see if VC has the balls to be innovative:rolleyes:

if they can afford to give 30megs for R9.25 why revert back to 5megs for R9.25?

i suppose the easiest answer is: "lets rip the SA consumer off"
 
Where's my extra data?

I have just purchased a 3gig data bundle and was surprised and extremely disappointed to see that VC had not added the 300mb "bonus" data.

Has this offer expired? :confused:

I feel as if I have been screwed twice in the last month or so. VC had been pestering me for weeks to upgrade my cellphone contract, which I eventually did.

I am paying R135 for a Samsung S7350, which has everything I need in a phone ... 5mp camera, HSUPA and NO TOUCH SCREEN/BUTTONS! ;)

Now, VC is advertising the same model and package for about half the monthly fee!!! :mad:

I guess we won't see anything like this again anytime soon... MTN is too busy trying to sort out their messy billing system so won't introduce anything new now. Let's hope it happens soon, because they will want to attract customers and will increase caps/reduce rates to do so. Vodacom will then follow MTN...

Vodacom is now in a position to attract many MTN customers, especially contract subscribers, but doesn't seem to be interested? :confused:

It shouldn't be like this.
Data at these prices WILL be a thing of the past.
Its just an irritatingly painful, slow, repetitive and emotionally draining wait.
In the meantime we check our usage as each page loads and notice how sophisticated web pages become as our bundles wither away quicker then ever before.

Sigh!
