Free data with ADSL access coming from Vox

So you would only pay R139 per month? For an ADSL 384kbps line. That's it, only R139?

Yes.

What i would like to know is if this offering is subject to a 1 year contract? Also how much would Vox top-ups be otherwise IcemanMike's idea works perfectly :)

saol has 384k all inclusive for R139 incl. 1GB data. but look at this offer from mweb all incl uncapped for R349--which one would you go for?

Actually, I'd go for the R139 saol offer.

Yes, MWeb is better value, but it's more money. And I generally don't need more than 1Gb anyway.

(Just making the point that different people have different needs - it's not a one-size-fits-all type of thing)

I see they say that on their front page, but the price listed is R189 per month. I can not find any other details, it it may well be a 3 month or 6 months contract special after which the normal price holds: http://www.saol.com/adsl1.php

The correct link is on their front page: (at the bottom -red button)

It is month to month! (not a 24 month contract).
AFAIK it's not shaped I get 39-41Kb/s download speed in the 384K!

  holy **** a whole 1 to 3 gigs for free

why not 10, 15 or 20 ?

remember, at the end of the month, say you bought 10GB for R210 or so, and you have not used it up, it will expire. Download frenzy at end of month. With uncapped, even it is shaped, I can download with ease and even go beyond the 10GB without even thinking of topping up. My entire family can use the internet freely without me having to tell them to stop downloading because we only have x amount of data. The day to day headaches of top up and guilt-feeling are gone, and I can concentrate on the work I have to do on the internet.
But, yes, if the user only wants access to internet, and not use the internet to its full potential, then this R139 (1GB data+ line) is sufficient--remember the days when we all started like this, with TI all inclusive for R199 and 1GB data?? 2008 or somewhere there?
