Free GBs on offer

Who would have guessed that....3G cheaper than ADSL....see how telkom screwed our whole ADSL market.
SA is prob the only country in the world where this is possible!!!!

The biggest deal of them all may however come from Cell C, if recent speculation about its mobile broadband promotion is to be believed. According to documentation provided to MyBroadband the company is planning two broadband offerings: Broadband Standard and Broadband advanced.

According to the document the Broadband Basic product will offer subscribers a Cell C branded 7.2 Mbps dongle, a prepaid SIM and 2 GB of data per month for a period of 12 months for R999 – once off.

The Broadband Advanced product will offer subscribers a Cell C branded 21 Mbps dongle, a prepaid SIM and 5 GB of data per month for a period of 12 months for R1999 – once off.

Does that mean you get 5x12=60GB of wireless access over the course of 12 months for R1999 with no further monthly charges? Or is the R1999 a once off connect charge for the dongle & sim card?

If the former is the case that means their 'per GB' prices are equals that of Afrihost's ADSL... and on a 20Mbit "line"! Very nice indeed!

Afrihost have given me 30 gigs extra for the two months in a row... and another 30 gigs for August as well! :p

That's 180 Gigs :p (90 for free)

Not bad at all if they can actually deliver.

Free FNB Connect

Very happy with my FNB Connect service...in addition to the free gig on registration I also get a free gig every month because I have a FNB cheque account...I also get free access to the FNB site (free online banking) as well as free facebook for my kids between 7 - 11 at night...

CNA’s Starcract II promotion saw the company offering 3 GBs of free data with every game purchased, a very handy bundle for avid gamers.

Never heard of this game ... :D

Free mobile browsing will be nice or uncapped for a reasonable amount other than on a BB device.

Telkom, the incumbent operator, is even getting in on the act by bumping up their 3 GB ADSL data bundles to 5 GB and increasing their 5 GB bundles to 9 GB free of charge
Keep laughing at this offer since you could get 5gig for that price a long time ago, sure you get local but hell how much local do you use if your not using it like some people with the news stuff and what not.

I use the 3GB plus 4mb line for R399 from Cybersmart... Nice free backup for when Seacom goes down on my MWEB uncapped.
