Free iBurst bandwidth after midnight

Cool the new reports have the "Data used After Hours" section. Is there an abuse type policy i.e. if you use over X amount you're screwed?

Anyone know how often the bandwidth usage is updated on the site? (every hour?)

I haven't yet received a report for today..
BTW (OT I know) will the dashboard EVER work again?

I'm really enjoying the service, and it's working well, so well done to iBurst on that count. If, after the three month freebie, this service is priced at a reasonable rate and available on *all* the packages and not just the more expensive 5gb+ packages, I'll certainly consider it.

I'm not receiving any usage emails though, and there's some discrepancy between my usage as stated by the website, and my own bandwidth monitor. In the context it's not an issue, but it *is* a significant difference (over 2gb), and I seem to have used up 400mb of my cap on 3-4 youtube videos and normal web-browsing yesterday. Not impossible by all means, but it does seem rather excessive for what I was doing yesterday. Any chance you can get the engineers to look at the bandwidth monitor please, Ronald? Or offer a suggestion as to what might be wrong on my side, for that matter. Thanks in advance, & let me know if you'd like my usage records, I'm more than happy to provide them.

We have the session reports and if you PM me with your UTID I'll send them to you. We are busy making these available on the web pretty soon.

The usage report and email is out of kilter as subs who have a greater usage on the free bandwidth make it go negative. That is why we are adding the extra row to balance the report.

Congrats to myself for my 1000th post...:D

Anyways, I love long weekends. Even during the day speeds are awesome.

Congratulations on your 1000th post but the giga post, i.e. 1024 is a much bigger milestone!

Bubbles has got the hang of the button pressing routine and is ready for midnight...

I am really enjoying this zero-rated bandwith atm.
Currently I'm using it to update a Football(Soccer) MMO called Football SuperStars and to download the latest ATI drivers as well as 30+ Windows 7 security patches(the standalone installers, which I will use to update a fresh installation when I format later this week).

At first I was confused but I see now, i kept seeing my download usage go up on the site and was thinking it wasn't working, forgot to check remaining and now I see that the download goes up but remaining doesn't go down :) So I will give Iburst a hi5 for this service, credit where credit is due :)

BTW: Have there been any complaints to the ASA about the current crop of products being marketed as uncapped but having a usage policy applied?

Yip

Good point, forgot that people are whiny and ungrateful.

Todays tests:
0.99Mbps download, 0.28Mbps upload, 131ms ping
Steam: 109KB/s

Im getting a similar issue, this Monday I started downloading at 00:15 like normal , and stopped it at 07:45 in the morning, woke up at 08:30 and visited some websites on my iphone (via wifi router) while in bed, and disconnected everything at 09:00 , and did not reconnect till 22:00 , but did not browse or download anything, when I reconnected, had my grabit set to start at 00:15 again the next morning, but disconnected it at 7:00 this morning. I got my usege reports via email and compared it , and it used up 500mb between last nigh and the morning browsing, which is impossible to do in a 30min session on the iphone...

also my normal browsing usege has increased dramatically even though I havent changed my browsing habbits or downloaded more than I normally do.

Except for that everything is great , getting decent speeds :)

Please PM me your UTID and I'll double check your usage reports.

I like the 'new' way of showing what was used, much easier to understand if you are not ontop of your usage.

I give 10/10 to iburst for this product, well done!

But as said before, if we have to pay for this service in a July, I would love to see it being from 20:00 to 08:00 (similar to the old telkom call-more times). My biggest reason for this is not to download more, but to use the internet at a more reasonable time. I would love to do PS game updates/Firmware updates/youtube/online gaming on this new (and very welcomed) service, but the only use that I have for it...is to schedule alt.binz for a few .avi's, I'm fast asleep at 12.

I'm thinking the novelty will wear off, people will get used to uncapped internet and will eventually realise that you cannot possibly download the whole interwebz. How about monkey boy pushes the button a little earlier and see if the usage is still acceptable? Just a little trial...in the trial ;)

So glad I got me a 2MB modem in the middle of Sandton. Full 2MB speeds, almost constantly :D 700mb an hour...now if only I had something I wanted to download :P

iBurst do 2Mbps? I thought it was a 1Mbps only?
Speaking of 2Mbps, I'm going to try out using 2 modems (1Mbps x2) within the next 2 weeks to see how it goes.

Todays tests:
0.94Mbps download, 0.22Mbps upload, 143ms ping
Steam: 112KB/s

How did you get a 2MB modem?

How much did it cost?

Where?
When?

Rooigevaar, can you please confirm that this is available now?
