Umm. No, you only get viruses if you Download crap. With Torrents, I get like 90-100KB/s DL, and with Sharing sites (especially RS) I get max 40-50KB/s, and thats all on Windows.

+1 most torents are safe,
i have never gotten any spyware / adware from torents. searching for porn on the other hand thats whre you going to get spyware :D

Disagree.
I was downloading legal content from torrents (MMORPG client updates).
Switched on PeerGuardian/PeerBlock as usually, then noticed a LOT of blocks on list.
It included force structures like police, AntiP2P (not related to downloading process) and other suspicious connections that not showing up on connections list.
 
During the day, i can download at around 100-120 from anything (torrents, p2p, share sites). At night im lucky to get 30k from anything. Rapidshare goes at about 20k, and torrents at under 10k the entire time.
 
you get 20KB on MF,RS or MU ???? i never get those speeds at night

I find my speeds the last few days have been OK BUT 2 days in the last week I have gotten up in the morning to find nothing has downloaded - obviously some hiccup somewhere rendered the connection useless when the download manager was trying, so it goes through all the scheduled d/ls and retrieves nothing.
Happened again last night.
So its like, to benefit from the service 1/3 of the time, you need to stay awake to babysit... :-( which for me is a point against the service.. I need my sleep!
 
I managed about 3.15GiB this morning, pretty satisfied with the speed I'm getting. If only I could get that kind of speed during the day :(

Same... I wish if I could get better speeds during day.
 
After 2 months of this free iburst, I've realized that other than hardcore downloader and steam updating in the mornings there really is little point to it. I'd actually prefer a weekender idea that cybersmart has (or had?). At least then I can waste the day playing tf2 without worrying about bandwidth.
 
i would've liked if they could move it to 10 Pm till 6 am instead this 12 am to 8 am crap. Its difficult getting up 2 am in the morning to see how your downloads are fairing u know. but thats just me
 
21,799.68MB this month in after hours.

Bought the splinter cell special from steam this weekend, 20GB of good downloading to follow - so i should beat that 21GB in the last month of the trial! :D
 
Well in the past 2 months ive dl'ed the complete internet and now i dunno what to to do with the bandwidth anymore....

For me its good. My 2Gig with one topup last me the month and all the stuff that i don't really need is after hours.
 
Guys.. June is the last month of the trial hey?

I just want to make sure before I start downloading tonight and only realise tomorrow that the whole family's cap is gone...
