2. Uncapped during after hours full speed.
So, you hit your cap and are throttled to 64Kb during the day BUT between 00:00 and 08:00 you go full speed (even though you are 'capped')?

If one does not wish to opt for the VAS and avoid the hassel of calling the call centre, then s/he will get "After hour discount" for free based on their package
It isI will be the first to jump on the V.A.S. service, but I do not want to phone and apply only to be told something different than what you are posting Ronald.
But at the end of the day, doesn't it boil down to what I said in my post above - ie that if you try to use the after hours service it will deplete your cap? So within a few days you will be daytime throttled - unless you're on Wireless 15?
My daily usage report shows: Data used After Hours is anywhere between 300MB to 2G Who is using my free data? Not me as my pc is disconnected
Rooigevaar, please clarify this for me...
If I'm currently on the 8GB package with NO VAS added, will I have the uncapped service from 00:00 - 08:00? Do I qualify for this service as is?
Thanks
Lets give an example, note that the % savings aren't out yet, but lets just make some up
I'm on a 5GB package, NO VAS.
So, in the morning, I download 1GB. My usage report will show that the amount I have left for the month is 4600MB (it'll say 400MB usage, 600MB "free after hour). This is based on a %, in this case, 40%.
So yes, ultimately you'll run out of bandwidth and be capped but should get extra data for free. 8GB might get better savings (eg. 800MB "free after hour" for 1GB of data)
5Gb WITH 64/128kb/s VAS
So, in the morning, I download 1GB. My usage report will show that the amount I have left for the month is 5000MB (it'll say 1GB Free because I have the 64kb VAS).
On the 20th, I've used ALL my bundle data, so the usage is 0MB left.
So, from the 20th, 16 hours of the day (8am -> 23:59) my internet speed is 64kb/s, but at 00:00 my speed then shoots back to max (in theory, 1024kb/s) until 8am, where it goes back to 64kb/s.
"iBurst Broadband Simplified" Yeah, right...
Why can't they make things simple, firstly they said you could only have VAS on wireless 5 and up.
Then they changed their mind and said you can have VAS on Wiireless 1 and up.
But they forget to change that info on their website. Then they wonder why everyone gets confused.
Now it's the midnight service, just keep it simple don't confuse your clients.
I don't want a percentage saving, I want full 100% saving. Then I am back every morning counting my data usage making sure that only a percentage was removed/counted.
Then we wonder why the staff at iBurst don't know what we are talking about when we phone in...![]()
If eltherza is correct, then you will be paying R248.00 a month extra for something that will deplete your cap faster.
Okay, according to some posters, having the VAS will only extend you cap, which means it is not ‘free’ after hours usage at all unless you have the 15gig package.
Other posters are saying that the VAS includes ‘free’ after hour usage.
Ronald, can you please clarify… It seems that this is what is causing the confusion.
P.S. I see that the website info regarding the VAS has been corrected.. Thanks Ronald.
If one wish to opt for after hour service, s/he can subscribe for VAS "Uncapped any time" and enjoy both worlds :
1. Uncapped during the day with limited speed.
2. Uncapped during after hours full speed.
Note that any one from Wireless 1 and up can subscribe for uncapped service.

This is the short of it:
Don't pay for VAS: Using after hours only subtracts a portion of your cap. eg, you download 1GB but only 600MB comes off your cap - effectively saving 400MB (but the % saving still needs to be decided on)
Pay for VAS: Using after hours doesn't subtract from your cap at all, and as an added bonus when you are throttled (throttled to 64kb/s during the day) you get unthrottled after hours.
To really take advantage of the VAS, one would have to blow their cap in the first 2 days. I for one am not interested in doing that.
Sometimes it's a day behind. Check tomorrow and it should be 0. Did you download the previous night?
No... this is over a period of a few weeks...either some glaring fault with the usage software at iburst or somehow my account is being used by someone.
