I thought browsing the Vlive portal was still free ? Only when you try browse outside of this you are charged ?

Not with you, DNS restriction?

BTW, you're right, there still is a way to get free internet. Amazing what Google will produce! Just tried it and it works....

Now the moral question; do I give myself a 1Gb bundle?

Well i don't know what you call it exactly when you do a 'nslookup' on the vlive apn and it times out i would call that a restriction on the DNS for vlive is that not so? anyways

False Advertising

Well I say all the people bought their phone's under false advertising, And yes you cant even browse the vlive homepage without money?? Wot's so free bout that then hmmmm. :(

I think Vlive was just a whole lot of garbagge just to get the customers in. itz a pity dat vodacom's gonna loose so many precious customers.

Voda only care bout paying customers. I am on a path to ensure cheaper internet for us all, if that means taking revenge on some poor soul, so be it, in the end paying for web is in the greatere good of everyone

Correction

You got sour grapes and now took reveange on other's, well go visit prodigit's were you started and c wot people think bout U Then ul c reveange been taken. LOL anyway's it ended so I hope you feel good now.

Seems there's lot's of confusion. Here's how it works:

1) Browsing the VLive portal is free, has always been, will always be.

2) Buying and downloading content from VLive is charged per content item.

3) Going 'off-net' , i.e. browsing outside the VLive portal is charged at your specific data rate.

I'd like to see the ads where Vodacom stated you get free internet access with VLive, please forward to me if possible.

Not yet. Hacking the networks for free internet is illegal.

I dont care for the enemies i aparrently made. You lot were not sharing your info, so why should you be able to use it and the rest of the country have to pay?

I dont care for rhino, he is a fool, good riddence to him.

It was never intended to be free, and vodacom logged all the internet used over the last months.

hmmm

Lets you think hey. Well Atleast i'm not dumb like sertain ppl. I pul 2gb a day on free conenction from vodacom that i still have. So there goes that 1gb bundle hey. I plan to cancel all my contracts. Also guys when you going away from vodacrap dont go to Cell C or VM, Cause they run from vodacrap. That means you stil use their crappy service. Use MTN. Its better anyways:p

Well.
My friend1 still has free internet.
and guess what, Friend2 also has free internet now!!! and I know how he did it.

Actually....

I'd like to see the ads where Vodacom stated you get free internet access with VLive, please forward to me if possible.

Actually...if i remember correctly, one guy at our vodacom shop here sold my friend a vlive phone saying that it has got free internet via vlive.

What seems to be the matter with the VLive handsets?
Want me to list the problems for a start?
1. Can't remove the stupid RED Vodafone screensaver and theme despite the fact that I'm not using it and it's just taking up space I cannot free up.
2. Can't delete 'go to' menu with the What's new, My Vodacom, More Sounds, More Pictures, More Games, Video and Audio, News, Sport, live! Studio, and Download Music shortcuts despite the same shortcuts existing in the web browser.
3. For some reason there is a duplicated Inbox, Calender and Notes in the same folder which I can't get rid of.
The Vodafone theme itself is probably a couple of kilobytes and the shortcuts take up at least a kilobyte. Only having 6664kB of memory free I would have deleted it already if i was possible. Vodacom should stop loading crap onto our phones which we still pay the full price for and then stop us from removing it.
Well i don't know what you call it exactly when you do a 'nslookup' on the vlive apn and it times out i would call that a restriction on the DNS for vlive is that not so? anyways
It's called a bad connection.

Geesh, I don't remember anyone hacking the networks in any illegal manner. Vodacom knew the way they implemented the system that anyone browsing from the VLive access point would not be paying for their usage and decided that it wasn't a big deal. Some of us just used those same settings on our computers also. We didn't change any settings that wasn't available to anyone else and didn't hack into any server so you'll have a hard time proving any malice which is a precursor for proving it illegal. We didn't keep it secret either. I gave it out to anyone using mxit and anyone else who specifically asked for it.

Exactly what I stated on another forum where people were actually mounting a petition thinking Vodacom advertised free internet. But it does seem that some salespeople used the free internet to sell phones and if it was done by a Vodacom dealer then it is ultimately Vodacom who is responsible. I feel that the people who were told that they would get free internet with their phones have a legal right to it.

Well.
My friend1 still has free internet.

Could you pm me the details please. I'd like to recover my R110 which Vodacom took when they removed the free browsing without even a warning. Thanks.
