Hi,

So I want to go onto one of the Telkom's FreeMe packages, they have a whole bunch, but I really need minutes and data, and I see their minutes are classified as 'On-network' minutes. Am I correct in assuming this means my minutes will only work for Telkom to Telkom calls? because then that is pretty pointless.

Other than that, my next best option seems to be vodacom... who I loathe deeply after a myriad of nonsensical billing and uber ****ty service.

Please let me know thoughts.

I either want to keep my iPhone 6 and get a new voice + data sim contract, or get an S8 Plus + voice + data contract.

You can add minutes to the contract that are all-network or call out-of-bundle at 69c per minute.
I just call everyone via WhatsApp, seems to work well.

Correct, all the included Freeme Minutes are for Telkom Mobile or Landline numbers only. But the "All network" minutes are pretty cheap to add on. R69 for 100minutes. The out-of-bundle minutes cost the same, so just put a limit on your spending and phone as normal.

If you go Prepaid, look at the FreeMe Boost bundles. You get data, voice, sms etc. in the bundles.

Wrong,

Please read up on the higher end packages. They include upto 3000 min all networks. And then still seperately the TM/TL free ones.

Sorry, I assumed the OP was looking at the 1GB/2GB FreeMe packages.

That's the 20GB and unlimited one, I don't think that many people are on it.
