New Apple iPods

Apple chief executive Steve Jobs unveiled a refreshed line of iPod media players on Wednesday including a new iPod Touch which allows for video calling.

What a fast post. I was following on engadget and this is a quick one.

Problem is these babies won't reach our shores very "fast" :cry:
 
Apple appears desperate to be innovative ... but there direction's confusing me. The only Apple product I might ever get it the iPod ... but solely to be a music player. If I want a phone, I'll look for a Nokia, Blackberry, HTC or Samsung to fill that spot ;)

I think they will reach our shores fast, just maybe not through CORE. Look at how long its taken the iphone 4 via Vodacom and yet there are thousands of iPhone 4's sold here already, not to mention the iPads. South Africans are sick and tired of waiting for delays from Vodacom and CORE and are either importing or buying grey. may of us now have buddies in USA and UK who can buy and post back to us at a fraction of the price we pay here, so yes I think the new products will reach our store VERY VERY soon.
 
Yeah I agree. I like apple and am saving for a macbook, but I wouldn.t buy an ipod touch. If I buy an mp3 player I only want to play mp3s .
 
I can see where Apple is heading. They are loking at being the biggest household electronic provider. Eventually we will have Apple TV's, watches, kettles, vacuum cleaners, whatever - only thing with an "i" in front of it - iKettle, iWatch, iVacuum, iCar, iBike, iSABC (hope not)

Apple cant keep on "reinventing" its own products forever and in order to grow they have to come up with new products - well lets just say "reinvent" old products.
 
meh, why can't they add more storage to the ipod touch? It's a freaking music player in the first place. Also I don't know why they can say that their "gaming device" has outsold the PSP and DS.
 
IMHO most games on the ipod touch/iphone are crap...they just don't compare to games on psp etc.
what's with the back mirror finish...I hate that ...it scratches like anything ...you think they would have learned from that...would have preferred an ipad like back
 
Okay wait, does the thing connect to the net/network via WiFi and then you can talk to other people via Vid Conference, or do you connect the two devices via WiFi and chat to people... Because I mean if you connect 2 iPhones via WiFi and talk to each other, why not just walk to the person because you will be pretty damm close to each other :/

I am pretty amped about the HD video recording. Otherwise I don't think that I could afford it.
$299 for the middle version : $299 * 7.5 * 1.2 = 2999 in South African Apple Mathematics.
besides we will get out iPods from the UK which will be more expensive.

You're just not looking properly. Try: Myst, Doom, Sim City, Civilization Revolution, Ascent, Valet Hero, Fingerzilla, Lion Pride, My Brute, Tilt to Live, geoFighter, iBomber, BlueSkies, Air Hockey, FaceFighter, Daisy Mae, Compression, Ground Effect, Low Grav 1 & 2, 4 x 4 Jam, Tiki Totems, TexasHoldem, Words Free, Pocket God, Tron… should I continue?

The only game I'd consider getting out the PSP for is Metal Gear Solid: Peacewalker.

You can't play any worthwhile game on a touch screen, Ive tried. It's nice for taking a dump and that's about it. Same goes for any "cell phone" game.
 
I love the new Nano

Now I know what I want to buy next!!

I guess its time to put my old ipod of 5 years to rest. Hehe but it was a good run and the battery can still hold a charge!
