Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

Down in Burgundy Estate Cape Town too, it's becoming a norm with them, every week there is an outage.

Fark it how useless a company and support can you be! Wife's busy with a project remotely and this line keeps on flapping...
Starting to look at Vumatel now. I'd rather, quite honestly, pay more for fibre if it's stable.

Believe Afrihost have something up their sleeves regarding Vumatel

Turns out Vumatel are too expensive when looking at the 50/50 package with companies like Afrihost/Axxess etc.

Bloody hell!

I’m just waiting for Frogfoot to tell us we should spend time with our loved ones when the internet is down, much like Eskom said we should do when we have load shedding:ROFL:
Think you mweb ? You still dead ?
Friend on mweb still down.

Its up now on my side, but with constant drops, it might as well just be down

Such a robust, resilient network FrogFoot has built. They should be so proud. Down yet again … hard to WFH like this.

How much is your sanity worth?

I'd gladly pay double to be able to move to another FNO

Not R250 extra. I might look into 4G or even Rain at this point in time and cut the cord completely. While I have 50Mbps Internet, I could just as well go down to 20Mbps. I hardly download, hardly play online games (except for downloading a game off Xbox gaming app for Windows, or Epic for instance), and we stream. Then it's normal WFH during the day.

I was running the R499 25mbps throttled deal from Rain for a while and it was superb. I did a speedtest to their server, which isn't throttled, and I was nearing peak speeds of close to 200mbps.

The only issue was that streaming was limited to 720p (IIRC), so you would need to get the 'bigger' packages to enable 1080p and better streams.

Have you looked at the 2TB month-to-month deal from Telkom? https://mybroadband.co.za/forum/threads/2tb-anytime-data.1181284/post-29126052

Do Rain still have that gap after 7PM during which you pay for data used?

I'll check out that Telkom offering. TBH that is way more data than what I need, but I'd run out to buy a 4G router and pay that just to be rid of Vox and Frogfoot.

I think that was the off-peak only deal you are thinking of?

They are currently running a special on the R699 pm deal which gives you speeds of up to 50mbps and limits streaming to 1080p.

Although for the price I think the Telkom deal is better, if it's still available.
