Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

I just want to know how they could F this up so badly.

It’s a clusterfcuk of epic proportions.
Roll out a patch with no defined rollback. Something goes wrong, they get the "Oh ****!" line when there's no redundancy, and there you have it...we are in this mess.

From the Cape Town FF thread an hour ago:

Important notice update re: Western Cape and Eastern Cape Outage

Dear Customers

The Frogfoot team, in conjunction with our equipment supplier, has been working on this outage affecting Western Cape and Eastern Cape customers with urgency.

In order to work on the links, the team will be implementing a change window at 17:00, ending at 19:00 on 2 June 2022.

This is necessary to ensure we are working towards a resolution.

Please expect Intermittent connectivity, with periods of hard down between 30 minutes to 1 Hour.

Areas affected: Knysna, Mossel Bay, George, Darling, Noordhoek, Fish Hoek, Franschhoek, Uitenhage, Caledon, Port Elizabeth, Swellendam, Oudtshoorn, Rondebosch, Rondebosch-2, Grahamstown, Cape Town CBD, Bellville, Pinelands, Montague Gardens, Sunnydale, King Williams Town, Matroosfontein, Wynberg, Goodwood, Delft, Blue Downs, Hout Bay, Blouberg, Stellenbosch, Somerset West, Paarl, Atlantis, Isando, Yzerfontein.

Vox will tell you no refund, most probably because they won't be able to recover money from frogfoot
I'm with Telkom as ISP, they inform me that I should quote my fault report reference number/s (my Frogfoot line has been useless since last week Friday) and lodge a dispute with the (Telkom) finance department. Presumably I can apply for credit for the day/s that the service was unavailable, so I imagine Telkom will seek redress from Frogfoot in terms of their SLA.

Please see the urgent change scheduled.

45 minutes left, no chance yet , holding thumbs

What the hell is going on here ?
No man. We must pay and pay each month to receive this nonexistent connectivity .
What a total disaster.

Been in this industry for a while. Probably the longest outage of an FNO I have seen at this scale. Makes one wonder why these FNO's don't adopt a simple LAC/LNS model, it seriously simplifies the core/redundancy options

The "upgrade" that they applied was apparently on Thursday night last week - 26 May. My connection has been hard down for four days since then and intermittent for the rest.

Oh no :( do i dare go ahead and get fibre after reading these extremely discouraging comments? Feel like that would be incredibly foolish now
If it's with Frogfoot - stay far away.

I'd rather recommend you repeatedly slam your face into a cactus - it will be both cheaper and less painful.
