Frogfoot Port Elizabeth

Had brief drops around 10-11pm last night again. Wouldn't have noticed it normally, but being ingame with folks also on Frogfoot on the other side of town we all had the same dips at the same moments. (Different ISP's)

We haven't had this side of the world (PE), at least not on our link (Mweb/FF)

It was very brief - like 2 seconds at a time. Wouldn't have noticed if it wasn't for the Dota match that moment.
Had 2x 5-10 second outages earlier the day too.

Usually Frogfoot George suffers at the same times as PE as we go through your exchange from what I can tell.

PS. Has there been any rumours of PE getting Openserve/Octotel or someone else?
I see Octotel has started pulling cables in George, Fancourt (blue - planned), and already live in the township areas (orange - live). Not sure if they'll expand throughout town, but any alternative to Frogfoot would be exceptionally welcome.

George is gatvol of Frogfoot. You understand teething problems, but it's been years now.

Looks like they only rolling out in WC. Stops after Plett. Vumatel are only in a few suburbs and cant tell if any others are planned. Herotel... No coverage in my area. Cant tell if they rolling out more. Openserve is across the valley from me. I can see the pole with fibre on it but all inquiries lead to nothing. We are stuck with FF where we are.

We have OpenServe in our area, trenched probably about a year ago.

I have a deal with my work though (they pay for my internet) so I can't change FNO's as they will only do that if I move house - a bit silly, but it is what it is.

I would LOVE to switch to OpenServe as other colleagues with them have had zero complaints whereas we have them daily.

An hour or more's Frogfoot Fiber outages several nights in a row last week, each time around 11pm-00:30 side.
Then ofcourse the random outages throughout the weekend as well where a group of us in town would go offline at the same time.

Infuriatingly poor service with no notices.

If only Frogfoot fiber would send an sms with each outage their management would see how unstable the network really is. Unbelievable.
Good day, we do apologize for the delayed response and the inconvenience caused. May you please provide us with your name & surname of account holder, contact details and your physical address if the issues is still not resolved via Inbox or email us on [email protected].

Good luck with that one.

Remember, You are NOT the client. Frotfoot will always refer you to the ISP as they must be the ones at fault.

Your ISP will possibly get you to follow the same mundane and pathetic troubleshooting steps every single time, even if the fibre is hard down, ..

@Frogfoot Fibre , your service is, and remains one massive joke

Unfortunately it's an ongoing issue that has never been resolved in George (and PE) as a whole for more than a month at the very best, since fibre was installed in this area.
Certainly engineers must be aware if they were to run any uptime metrics for this area.

Opening a ticket wouldn't help as it's a systemic issue. Brief outages happen so often that it's not worth opening a ticket for. It's very disruptive however, and not what one would expect/hope for from your fibre provider.

I hope for both Frogfoot's and our sake that the regular outages come to an end as soon as possible, as they will absolutely be losing a lot of business the moment a second FNO enters the area.

I left Pingplotter to run after making this post, just to see if I spot outages.

Sure enough, Youtube suddenly stopped just now and I see the following:

I can't open a ticket for it, as the outage has already been "resolved" again, but this instability on Frogfoot keeps happening.
