Was expecting a lower ping, but who cares- I downloaded James Bond in 20 minutes!

Crystal Web on Vumatel in Blairgowrie went live this evening (50/50 test from a customer below):

Prices? Plans? Anywhere we can read more information?

Our introductory pricing is up for one product on the Vumatel portal for Killarney and Monday we will load all products with all introductory pricing...

I've asked so many times on PM for pricing and was just given the run around. I gave up

We were not ready to launch just yet and were still finalising some pricing aspects on our side, and also we honestly only disclose when we launch as it's pretty proprietary information that, released too soon, is not always a smart move from a business perspective.

Now, closer to the actual launch date, I'm happy to disclose some pricing to an extent and will leave the rest for Monday...

I would suggest you go and read your last PM to me. But it's cool, thanks for the response.

My apologies. My PMs get rather unruly to manage due to the sheer frequency and volume of them with people asking all sorts of things. It is not always the easiest to manage and has no reminder functions either. But in essence we haven't necessarily been ready to release pricing, and a few snags resulted in a few last minute adjustments both on the network and to the packages...

So... Phase 6 gets to wait another week...

The only consolation is that I think Vumatel would actually also like to get us running in order to start earning some revenue.

Yeah, it would seem that a cable in Phase6 was damaged by somebody. Not sure on the exact details, but unfortunately they can't launch next week :(

Hopefully it will be done soon.

I know they are taking things slower, as they do not want to have another situation like with the power, and people screaming at them.

Just one thing, beware of MWEB. They are sending reps to people's houses, and they got very forceful with my tenant when I wasn't here, demanding access to the problem to test the install. There might be criminals, but this seems like typical behavior for them. Try to avoid them at all costs.

So its been a month after fibre has been laid down and covered up in my area. Any idea when phase 9 will start seeing some installations??

According to my landlord we are still waiting for Vuma to come to us to talk about the proposed plans for installing the fibre distribution box on the building.

Im steadily running out of patience

Vumatel has been put behind by a month due to the precautionary measures to avoid more power cuts, and isnt their fault really. It will be soon enough it's worth the wait :)

And a further week delay caused by some fibre trouble in phase 6. Apparently someone dug up some fibre and broke it...?

oh ok thanks for clearing that up, and probably not the right thread to ask here, but I dunno where to ask. Are there power outages in Blairgowrie now?

Im living in an apartment next to a company, we have power but I think they dont. There is a generator running 24/7 just outside our gate, and it is really annoying trying to sleep with that thing humming through the night.

If it is a power outage, any news on when this will be fixed? That generator is on for more than 3 weeks now

Nothing area wide for that length of time, that I am aware of.
Maybe ask the company?

Quick note: all Crystal Web introductory pricing is now available and I think you guys will really appreciate it ;), so have fun and take advantage while it is still available. The price is locked-in if you buy now and the introductory pricing won't be there for all too long...

Done. You can sign up now and then just drop us a message and we'll simply approve the order later, so it won't provision yet and won't bill you either until you're ready to go live...

Yup, and we're building another integration for this as well.

I should point out that our VOIP will also be available without any real additional config changes at a fraction of ordinary rates but requires you to be on our network to gain access...

Another note: if you wish to switch from another provider to us, the normal cost is R999 for Vuma to do the reprovisioning. We'll waive this fee for the 1st 10 switches to Crystal Web so it's entirely free to you (this applies to all Vumatel areas)...
