Hi,

I am currently with Vox on ADSL (Happy with Vox). Moving to fibre now. Octotel is the provider in the area, and need to decide between Vox and Webafrica.

I am worried about the shaping and speed on Webafrica. Vox seems is great with fatpipe data in my experience.

Webafrica do have more attractive packages so that is why I would consider the move to them.

Any thoughts? Vox vs Webafrica...

As long as you stay away from anything with the name "Home" you should be fine.

Why not Cool Ideas though?

I had though about Cool Ideas, but was not sure of them. I was also worried about their ability to scale the busier they get (contention ratios etc.) as they are a smaller company - but that could be irrelevant these days?

I'd seriously consider cool ideas, I went live with them on the 2nd Feb and couldn't be happier. For instance, yesterday, after a power outage (even PBCool can't help with City Power) my CPE was down (Vumatel, blue light flashing slowly) so I called Cool Ideas, waited about 2 minutes in a queue and spoke to a technician who said he would log a call with Vumatel and get back to me.

I expected the usual runaround, but was pleasantly surprised when 5 minutes later he called me back in a conference call with the vumatel technician. About 2 minutes after that I was back online. Fantastic support, probably about the best peering I've seen (http://bgp.he.net/AS37680#_peers) and a close to perfect connection.

That's good to hear. You guys have swayed my choice, going to give Cool Ideas a go!

Thanks all, appreciate the opinions :)
