I can't find a decent calendar app to suit my needs. I used to use S-Planner which was perfect, until I flashed a CM ROM and quickly came to realise the benefits of S-Planner.

What I'm looking for is a calendar app that can integrate with google maps, so that I can view the map to select a location. Not even Google Calendar app does this.

I also want it to sync with Facebook for all events, not just birthdays.

I need to sync multiple google accounts.

Anyone know of a calendar app that can do this apart from S-Planner? S-Planner won't work on the CM Rom as it is tied in to TouchWiz as far as I have been able to tell...

Dude, do yourself a favor.. Get 2Do app. I have it on my iPad and S3 and on my mac. Syncs cross platform via drop box. It's really helped me manage my day properly.

Yip, S-Planner is brilliant. I checked out 2Do and it looks awesome for a few of my requirements and might extend what I want as well, but doesn't have the complete integration I'm looking for from a calendar app.

Seems I'm gonna have to re-flash to stock to get the functionality I want...:(

Can't you just extract the app and install it in the new ROM?
There are many app backup programs available so I'm sure it won't be too difficult...

As rodga mentioned, I was thinking something along the lines of:
(Seeing that you're going to flash the stock ROM anyways)

Flash stock ROM
Root
Install Titanium Backup
Backup to sd card
Flash preferred ROM
Root
Install Titanium
Extract app from sd card
Bob = uncle :)

It might be a bit of a mission, but it should be doable. (This is how I got some apps from my phone to the N7)

The issue is that S-Planner is tied in to the Touchwiz interface - apparently.

Pity there aren't any really decent calendar apps out there...:(

Yeah, you can't use TouchWiz apps without the TouchWiz framework.

@DJ...: There are mods that allow you to flash the TouchWiz framework. I did it with my Galaxy S, so I'm sure it'll be available somewhere for the S3. Get the best of both worlds :)

Or just open the ROM zip file on a PC, navigate to the /system/app folder, and copy the APK to the phone. But given that it won't work, doing it is moot...

If you install S Planner via Titanium Backup, try installing / making it as a 'system' app - that might do the trick.

Business Calendar allows you to do various calendars, which you can individually quickly switch on and off, to view only the ones you want to see. Not sure about FB events, though. Perhaps you could test that for us and let us know...

I'm on the CM10.1 ROM and they explicitly state that one must not use Titanium Backup to recover anything. I think this is because Android 4.2 works a little differently "inside" to the way the previous versions worked. I did however go into Titanium to check and I can't find S-Planner. I can find Samsung Calendar Sync which I can restore but I'm reluctant to do this.

Business Calendar doesn't do Facebook unfortunately. But I did find a workaround - just sync Facebook events to your Google Calendar using the export function in Facebook, and the events will then appear in the calendar on all devices. But the final sticking point is that I can't find a calendar that allows me to use Google Maps for a location. At least in Google Maps you can be 100% sure that the location is correct, and that Google Now is using the location data as well. With the other maps there is no way to tell whether the address is correct and today it certainly didn't keep me alerted to traffic and suggested time that I leave, like Google Now usually does for calendar entries...:(

I tied this now and it seems to work with Business calendar. I entered an appointment on my Outlook calendar with the location. It now shows my meeting at 14:00 and how long to get there on Google Now. There is also the option to open the location from Business calendar in Google maps. Open the meeting then select the nav icon next to the location...

But yeah no option to set the location via maps, only the option type in location then check afterwards.

When you did the backup with Titanium, did you include system apps? S-Planner falls under system apps on the stock ROM.

Usually they only recommend NOT restoring the app data. I have done a backup and restore from ICS to JB without any application issues (only one app stopped working, Evernote).

But because I have the itch to flash- I will test out the S-Planner restoration on JB 4.2 and revert with feedback...

EDIT: This will have to be later. I don't have a copy of the ROM or my backup on hand.

Aha, thanks for that. I noticed it has now set the Google Now info correctly. Seemed to be a slight delay or perhaps I was a little quick on the draw. Seems slowly one can piece-meal an S-Planner replacement. Pity none of the other calendar apps have caught up with S Planner yet. It is still the most feature-packed and intuitive calendar out there imo...

I never knew S-Planner was any good, played with it after reading this thread and can see that it is very good. The reason I like to use Business Calendar is because of its fairly customizable widgets, where S-Planner seems to have none when running another Launcher.

I just looked that the widget now, quite impressive... Actually using now over my default Simple Calendar Widget.

Does S-planner sync with my google calander? I want a way to have meetings show up on both my S2 and Nexus 7. Will s-planner and google calander work together like that?

Yip, that's how it works. When you create the event you have the option to select which calendar you want to add the event to. I run 3 different calendars at any given point in time and it syncs across all devices immediately...
